As someone who really only plays Operations (used to only play Rush in BC2 and BF3) its a real shame that I wont really get to play any of the new maps. These are some of the most infamous WWI locations and the modes on them aren't really WWI orientated. At least throw Frontlines on the maps.

The whole point of conquest assault is to force one team to attack a front as a cohesive team and the other to defend it. As gamemodes go, conquest assault is supposed to be ww1 oriented, it's just terribly balanced and kinda pointless with frontlines and operations doing what conquest assault is supposed to do, but actually doing it well.

Even on Cape Helles and Heligoland Bight, which in my opinion are the better working conquest assault maps, the gamemode still sucks. It's conquest but easier to steamroll and about half as long. I play battlefield 1 for the epic long battles and the struggle of two teams on even footing, not for a 15 minute crapfest of spawn camping and facerolling.

I find the games when everyone does “ring around the Rosie” the best matches. You have a big group attacking together and defending together making for exciting firefights so I don’t see the problem with that.

Jacob Bangs because that's how we get zerging. You can just sit in the spawn screen of BF1 and watch a giant squad of your own team go flag to flag and an enemy squad will do the same thing. So it's like both teams running circles all game just trying to cap flags. This makes it hard to hold on to objectives because if you stay behind to defend a point you'll just get overrun since the entire enemy team will be there to take your flag. Zerging really kills the strategy involved in the game and makes defending objectives you already have pointless. There needs to be a balance between PTFOing and being a slayer.

Odds - yeah, I agree with you... but Fort Vaux was like that until people got used to it too. After a week or so, it played out much more "as designed" (and still does unless you get spawn trapped). Let's hope this one does too.

The problem has actually become a curse for BF1 this never happened in BF4. The way how the maps are made are, well rounded maps and people has really emphasize PTFO in BF1 that when half the team runs to one a objective people are like "Fuck it Im going with my team too". People cant see the bigger picture anymore in the long term to help out their team. PTFO doesnt also just mean run flag to flag, other objectives include running opposite of your team to contest enemy team slow them down, running ahead of your team help push for the next objective and etc.

Problem is this: just because LCG is decent at hitscan aiming does not mean he has a fucking clue about anything else. Well my friends told me to join them and told me that there's a lot of lag. I thought it just happened to them but once i joined the game 3 minutes after i went on a flank with my friends and threw some explosives behind them. Guess what, once we detonated them the entire server crashed so did everyones' game. We rejoined and the server was empty. GGs

There's still stuff to cover. World War 1 was kind of a HUGE thing. It was fought all around the world, not just in Europe and the Middle East, and there were a surprising number of fronts and so many inventive and revolutionary weapons. The Canadians aren't even in the game! The only reason I'd want DICE to stop making maps for BF1 is because the game takes up a fifth of my hard drive and couting.

As Bulley said, Dice limited themselves right from the start. They obviously wanted to make a Second World War game (with modern warfare action) but were stuck with the First World War theme.

How fitting it drops untested with these issues, stinks of a lazy 'just bare bones it we have the premium pass money already' attitude. So disappointing overall from something that has been billed for a year and a half as something that would be epic!! '_' No new vehicles, no new sentry kits, no new Operation despite the most fitting maps to have it on in terms of history and community requests, new weapons are recycled assets mostly, no new armies or skins, fewest maps to drop in a DLC (dont get it twisted, there are 3 new maps), fewest weapons to drop in a DLC, AND on top of all this. The lag and hitmarker stuttering has made the whole thing really unplayable and underwhelming imo. It speaks volumes from the companies involved. #ItsNotInTheGame To be clear I love BF1 and have over 600 hours logged. But this is a kick in the sack!

They’ve changed the smg 08/18 with this update as well. They upped the power and fire rate. They also upped the vertical and horizontal recoil and made it overheat quicker to compensate.

I'll be honest, I have never seen that "conquest effect" you mentioned, where teams seem to deliberately avoid eachother for the sake of getting points from flags. While Passchendaele can turn into a really ugly spawn camping against the Germans (at least until they learn to use the Livens Launcher at their main base to break into their gimmi point), I've not seen the teams just avoid eachother. I played the map about a dozen times today across just as many different teams, never happened.

A similar theory was with JC3, with terrible frame rates when you blew a bunch of stuff up. One theory was that the game was uploading every destruction to leaderboards, which slowed down the game. Idk if this is 100% true, but if anytime you’re gaining score/kills its uploading the data to a bunch of stuff like the assingments, it could well be a cause.

While I respectfully disagree with your scores for the other dlc I agree that Apocalypse is pretty lackluster. It would have been better if they released before TSNP. Doing so would have partially addressed the poor release schedule, the assets are already there so it would have been easy to do, the expectations would have been relatively low for the first dlc, and adding the AA gun and Air Assault earlier would have been good for the meta.

Kaiserschlacht (I’m sure that’s spelled wrong) is basically paschendale in day time....like they have a church, trenches and bunkers. Having two air maps is hardly 2 maps since you don’t exactly use different cover you just fly around in the open air (flying close to the mountain doesn’t count). And Caporetto was kinda of a cool addition in all honesty...nothing too bad about it. But for their final DLC, you gotta finish stronger than that.

Frontlines gives the true experience, Operations does as well, but I enjoy the fact that the fronts can move back and forth. It really should be implemented into the new maps, and the amount of players in a frontlines server should be increased at least up to 20 or 25 per team

Played it last night. The air battles suck. You attack or defend airships but the problem is fighters are too weak to take down airships well but dominate all other planes. So if your in a bomber or attack plane trying to take down a airship your dominated in the ass and nothing you can do about it.

In my opinion DICE Stockholm makes very polished games. BF4 being the exception here. BF1 is a solid game. The only issues I have are with the current conquest ticket system and the ridiculously quick respawn rate.

Changing the direct X version from 12 to 11 got rid of the micro-stutter for me. Worth a try for anyone experiencing this problem. Hopefully it works. All the best LevelCap!

Your problem is uncommon and they dont make the game for people who overclock or turboboost. The target acquisition is fine considering the contrast between player and sky in that map is distinguished. I havnt even noticed anyone giving my position away with any afflictions. (I believe the afflictions is like a passive middle finger to the masses that will complain about anything after dieing. Like it makes you worse there is nothing to complain about.) did you notice how they also fixed the specializations? Didn't hear you mention that. And the theme is dark yes i like it.

I’ve seen the pro-players on KZbin showing us their stutter from playing their top-end PCs, and let me tell you - their stutter is NOTHING compared to the stutter my game has on PS4. It so bad that whenever I make a kill in the aircraft, it lags so much that I end up crashing lots. The lag is so bad. And the lag isn’t only from kills. It’s huge lag with each and every landed bullet using any weapon, and even while acquiring points for conquering zones, etc. I hope the fix comes real soon!

River somme and pashendalle are almost identical this was such a piss poor dlc i noticed sites like ign and gamespot didn't cover this i now know why. I wouldn't have even known this already came out. It just screams laziness even the new weapon unlocks are lazy get 50 assault kills get 50 scout kills thats it lol. Didn't anyone notice that the new Anti Air AT Rocket Gun that made it into the game on the Assault? My Brother and me yesterday dominated pretty much any Pilot since you only need 3 Shots to take out any Plane. It was VERY easy to take them out since the DMG and the Radius is relly good and easy to hit.

I know we're long past this point, but it still bugs me that Dice included super rare tanks that were either experimental or were only used once in the base game and the French DLC, but they didn't include the Tsar Tank with the Russian DLC. Oh well.

Air Assault should have ''Spotting'' removed as a feature, because with it on clouds are just a useless edition, as the enemy can just see you through them and has no trouble tracking you.

I really do hope that they add more content to Apocalypse. I was really excited for the DLC when i saw it, being able to fight in Somme and what I thought Verdun and Tannenberg. I was really excited to have new vehicles and more weapons. It's really. Disheartening to see that all we get is 3 maps and some new guns which as cool as they are don't really pack as much of a punch. Regardless, i'm still happy we get more content. I just really hope that they add more stuff because to me this was the most hyped up DLC because of how epic it sounded.

Every time I notice I get "stutter" its usually because the server has 4 or 5 people with 150 or even 200+ ping. Aside from operations I don't see any of the game mode related issues that LC talks about.

Does anyone else notice that four of the five new maps look like they have been reused from the campaign? Both Air Assault maps, Razor's Edge and London Calling, are taken straight from the flying section of the campaign. Passchendaele is the same as the prologue, and the River Somme is from the tank section of the campaign. The only one I am pretty sure is not from the campaign is Caporetto, but even that one might be the second mission in the Italian section of the campaign. They must just be running out of ideas for Battlefield 1 to reuse assets that have been there since the game launched and have the nerve to charge money for them.

Here's how to resolve the stuttering issue: On Pc:Go to your game folder and look for settings.ini. Open it with the text editor [...] open Programs, click on BF1 and then deinstall. Et voilà: stuttering fixed! On PS4: go to BF1, press the options button → deinstall. There you go.

I remember a video by Levelcap explaining why BF4-maps were, in general, worse than BF3-maps: because of the lack of good lanes: danger could come from too many angles, turning the game more into a twitch shooter. Now in BF1, this is so much worse. All but some maps consist of wide fields or mountains slopes with some rocks and some ditches, and an occasional obstacle here and there. These maps, too, seem so uninspired and almost procedurally generated. There are no landmarks, no bottlenecks, just a bunch of flags planted seemingly randomly in a large monotonous space with millions of routes to run and millions of angles to get shot from. Shame.

My first game on Somme was a shooting gallery the Brits got trapped in their spawn and the landship kept getting blown up I felt bad for them but I got A LOT of marksman headshots so… not that bad. The second time I drove the landship to C and was yelling in the chat GET OUT! That brought back memories of BF3 Kharg Island rush so it felt good.
