Seems like Apogee knocked it out of the park with this one! There's an Antelope's Zen vibe to it but this is much more interesting. Will definitely check it out :)

Hi there. I follow your videos and learn a lot. Good job! I just bought a symphony desktop and the knob has some slack, you can feel the oscillation when turning it, do you know if it is normal? Or is it wrong? Thanks!

Wait now I’m confused. At the beginning of the video you mentioned the update allowed access to all plugins but at the end of the video you say we can purchase the plugins for 50% off. Which one is it?

Thx for your videos. They are really helpful!! I have a question, can you connect symphony desktop to another apogee interface (similar to daisy chain) and expand the dsp power?. I understand that you can do that between elements interfaces but I don’t know if you can do the same between the symphony desktop and the ensamble or element. Thx in advance!!

I have been using a Scarlett 4i4 for over 2 years. I've been very happy with it. But the Apogee seems like a step up, especially approaching zero latency. I record on an older 2011 iMac running High Sierra - looks like the Symphony Desktop won't work with High Sierra, bummer :(

hi chris, hi colleagues, how you think does the apogee compare to an older UA silver apollo quad interface??????

I went UA Apollo Twin X Thunderbolt 16 months ago. The Apogee direct Logic input/gain control looked awesome, but the touch screen and firmware DSP plugins was… meh. And the price… yikes! UA Console, Unison pre-amps, and the plugin architecture won me over. Now with UA Spark I feel a little confused and betrayed. I think it’s an ongoing debate whether DSP/cpu based processing is better. With new M1 MacBooks and looming Intel and AMD chips, off-loading processing is less of a factor. Still, I prefer compression, channel strip color and eq on the way in for acoustic tracking. Apogee is saying “you need DSPs in our hardware for quality” while UAD is saying “…ah, no… you don’t need to buy our hardware”. Who’s gonna win this marketing message war?

The people who are less restrictive in tech always win. Can't run it for quality just means musicians and producers will choose less quality; There's peer-reviewed research showing my generation(born in the 90s) prefer compressed audio tracks and couldn't care less for dynamics. So cheaper/more adopted -> future. Hope you enjoy your purchase, and really not trying to be snobbish, but always have the opinion that a companies problem is not your problem, so get the thing you can get and kick ass with it. :)

If you were running as MAC, why on earth would you pick an interface without Thunderbolt 3?
