This channel needs a bit of love - I just discovered it by accident (it's not easy to find) and these videos are unbelievable. Only a couple of thousands views? For what are probably the most important images of the 20th century?

It's sad that when you're trying to find videos on KZbin about Apollo, or of interviews with astronauts, they're often either uploaded by hoaxers pushing a narrative, or the comments are filled with hoaxers.

This is possibly one of the best footages of Apollo 11 I have ever laid my eyes on. Thank you very much for your content, the Moon is clearly a beautiful piece of rock!

I believe this is the first vid I've seen of Eagle's approach to Columbia in lunar orbit. Just wonderful...

The relief between land and sky is so stark. It doesn't matter much footage of the Apollo landings I see, that contrast always bowls me over.

I wish I had found this earlier, it’s honestly sad we only ever get to see the popular images and short clips and never hidden gems like this

The Apollo program was the most photographed and documented series of events in human history. It's wonderful that these images are coming to light today.'

See 4:20. Can anybody here explain why the date of this footage is indicated as "11 July 1969"? As we all know, the moon landing happened on July 20 1969. And the footage is marked as "test Apollo11", rather than "real flight" footage or something of the kind? Please!

Each film roll was contained in a magazine that could easily be changed without the astronaut having to go through a fiddly lacing-up procedure. Prior to flight, a few feet of each magazine was exposed by filming a test chart and in this case. this evidently took place five days prior to the 16 July launch. The chart even says who the photographer was (Guynes) and who was inspecting that they did the job correctly (H. Jones). I expect that since this exposure was standardised, it would provide a basis for subsequent analysis of the film.

It's a film artefact caused by a part of the previous frame showing up on the current frame

@@thebruffy1077 Most likely not a double shadow (since it's not consistent with the rest of the pictures) but an an internal reflection caused by the optical system used and filters in front of the objectives. In the sequence : www.flickr.com/photos/projectapolloarchive/albums/72157659051610141 The pictures AS14-65-9211 to 9014 are showing the second shadow moving around depending where the camera is pointing. It's a clue the second shadow is not real. How the effect was generated is irrelevant, isn't it? Maybe , just maybe, we need to spend time more constructively than chasing ghost shadows...
