I live in Kingston, ON. Just stick to the newer pavement. Pretty much same routine for a ten-speed bicycle. Apollos have great suspension, and hopefully will have computer controlled mag-lev shocks soon. Can you imagine a ride that smooth? Like a UFO!

@@chaxologist2024 hey! So I just purchased the Go about two days ago and was wondering how durable the tires are? I was skeptical about getting it because I'm new to hearing about these self-healing tires that they install on the scooter. How does it compare to solid rubber tires in durability?

The sent me a new front fork but front tire still wobbles when braking. When I go over cracks n bumps the rear suspension rattles and I feel it through my feet. All screws are tight and lubed. The rear swing arm makes noise but lube fixes that but not the rattle

I still like everything about the GO except that 540Wh battery, which is also the reason I just can't justify purchasing it. It's too expensive for a "run to the mail box" scooter and has too short a range for a "take to San Diego on vacation" scooter. When you mentioned its height off the ground, it reinforced my die hard position that this should have been a 720Wh scooter. It would have been easy to accomplish while added only 2lbs. Right now it's a 10Series 3Parallel (10S3P) 30 x (21700 cell) arrangement. They could have gone with a 10S4P which would have added a row of 10 cells for a total of 40 cells giving it a 720Wh battery, 25% larger than it is now. This would have expanded the GO's capabilities and rolls exponentially with an additional 6-12 miles of range depending on how fast you're riding. The deck has so much ground clearance already that it wouldn't have mattered if it was 3/4" lower. 10 x 21000 cells weighs 1.68lbs so the difference in the deck dimensions would have been negligible to accommodate the extra row of cells. Perhaps the GO should be offered in two forms, the standard and the "sport" or "max" or "pro" whatever you want to call it. This version could have the 720Wh battery, disc brakes, and a slightly wider bar. With regards pricing for a "Max" version, 10 EVE cells (the brand Apollo uses in this model) can be purchased in bulk for less than $35. Disc brakes have a manufacturer's cost of about $30 per axle, if you use something similar to whats on the NIU KUI3 Max. So, we're talking about less than a $100 of cost to Apollo. It seems to me there would be a market for this. I mentioned this elsewhere and the person said, "that's what the City model is for." While I understand the thought, that's a wider, larger, heavier (69lb) scooter and really departs from the GO's philosophy, which is a transport friendly, sidewalk scalpel. Well, there's my sales pitch to Apollo. haha :D

Yeah it's my biggest gripe too. Had the battery been bigger this could have been a perfect e-scooter, but such is life. I ordered one but I know full well they will most likely release a ''Go Max'' version next year with a larger battery. I'm just too bored of my current 15mph suspensionless e-scooter to wait until next year to upgrade lol
@Patriot36
@Patriot36 4 ай бұрын
@@jlb4685 I wish I had your confidence that Apollo will make a larger battery version of this scooter, next year or at all. They're just so slow to develop products and tend to keep models for a long time. They don't seem to have the production agility of companies like NIU or even GoTrax who pump out lots of new, high quality products in short order. I'm just guessing but the GO was probably a 3+ year project from idea to production. If they make a Max version, it will need a slight redesign of the deck to allow for a larger battery with means CAD work and prototyping with multiple iterations. This may or may not effect the rear suspension assembly but from the looks of it, it has some rather proprietary geometry. I would love to be wrong about an upgraded version though!

@@Patriot36 I guess my only evidence is they made the battery in the City Pro bigger somehow without changing the design and the same thing happened with my current cheapo scooter. I guess time will tell eventually though and tbh like I said i'll just be pissed off if they do after already buying (unless there's a way to upgrade the existing Go!
@Patriot36
@Patriot36 4 ай бұрын
@@jlb4685 Tbh, I didn't know that about the City Pro so you may have a valid notion. The idea of a larger battery GO is exciting enough for me to go watch the City Pro reviews to see how it improved to the previous gen. I know what you mean. When you buy a scooter, you hope that you'll enjoy the latest and greatest for as long as possible. When a model updates or the price drops right after a purchase, it always makes me cringe a bit haha. If the GO gets a larger battery, I'll snap one one as soon as its offered. I think it's one of the coolest little designs ever. I think of it as a "sidewalk scalpel."

Great observation about the turn signal switches and having to lift off the throttle to depress. I've seen two excellent reviews from ESG and Tom's Gadget Garage, along with countless others, and I don't recall that being spotted. It was also nice to see your take on the stem latch mechanism. Some mentioned it being slightly finicky but having see the design, I didn't have that impression at all. It could be argued that the KUI3's and now 300X have an even better latch but hey, the GO's latch is at the top end. Great review and nice to see a post from your channel again. I was digging back in your channel a month or two ago because the Varla Pegasus was my first scooter and you have a great set of videos about it. Then, more recently I was watching your reviews about the Kaabo Mantis 8 (original version) which they updated in 2024. That's funny to me because in many ways, the GO is the more sleek, modern and techy version of the Mantis 8. The difference is the pricing with the later scooter being available for about $855 right now with the 5% discount code. It would be awesome to see and review of the newest Mantis 8 which I'm guessing would be fun for you as well, 3 years after your other reviews!

I agree with drum brakes. I have always heard you guys complain about them but having both a Klima and a Segway G2 max, the drum brakes are @55 cheeks and by far the worst component on the Segway. Having said that the segway has made me appreciate the regen braking because nami's is not very good. I love the one-pedal drive where the regen kicks in when you lift off the throttle meaning you rarely have to reach for the brakes. It makes the ride much more enjoyable and I think you guys should mention it more since it's supper under rate imo. Apollo is becoming one of the nicest brands out there. I love the look.

That inboard mirror design is quite flawed. They could make the arm longer but it would have more shake and be that much more gangly in appearance and function. The issue is that most mirrors are attached to the outboard portion of the bars but there are turn signals there. The work around would have an inch of open space between the grip and the bar end and should be a standard 31.8mm bar diameter so that any 31.8 Accessory could be attached.

So many STEP BY STEP tutorials I used one of the tutorials to repair my Dual Motor. I dropped my Apollo on to its handle and severed couple throttle wires in the handle assembly. Not under warranty. So I disassembled handled via there great tutorial. I took apart and soldered the 2 wires that were severed. Back on the road in an hour! I always use my regen rarely use my reg brakes :) ... *Cheers😊IcloneFun🤗*

Same boat here. Most of the bad press is from their City and Air models I've found. The Go seems to be their most consistent with by far the fewest reports of defective units. I wanted to get a City 2024 for the longest time but it's so easy to find floods of reddit posts from people who've had problems so I decided to place and order on a Go instead. The Go is much more portable/nimble for my needs too vs the hefty looking City.

The sealed drum brakes are weather proof, discs are not. I have had an Apollo for 4 years now and it seems indestructible. Had a weird rattle for while, turned out to be a twig caught in the suspension 😅 Only complaint is the lower neck bearing needs to be tightened at the shop every couple of years. About as zero maintenance as it gets. over 20K miles on it and still on the original battery and tires! Love to slalom through gridlock on that thang (I find my alpine skiing skills transfer very well to it).

I'm a fan of Apollo because of their unique styled scooters, they put lots of afford in that... but man I burst out laughing when you pull out the mirrors. I got the same mirrors from a Chinese site that starts with A and ends with S and the price was 10-12$. It's Highly likely they are buying bulk from the same factory... at most requesting to have their logo slapped on top at worst buying as is.. so definitely no designing and prototyping there... and on top of all of that want to sell them with such a markup.

Im considering to buy my first scooter. I have just started my research but cannot decide. I also don't want to invest too much time into this. I am between the F2 PRO (600 EUR), a MAX G30D II (630 EUR), a NIU KQi3 Max (675 EUR), and a Xiaomi 4 Pro Plus. I would be using it in Germany, where speed limits are set to 20km/h, but eventually I want to move to Spain where it is 25km/h, so I would also like to have one that allows me change this limit in case I move. Could you help me to rank this list, considering the current prices I can get them?

One look at the handlebars, and I don't like it. - They look unnecessarily fat, and the display attachment point takes up too much room, reducing the accessories, like additional light, phone holder, horn, bell, mirrors, etc. that will fit. For mirrors ON BICYCLES that stick out enough, I often have to go to Bar End type - but scooters often have a non-circular handlebar end that those won't work in.
