nice review, thank you. The Apollo light is the 350 variant of the Titan T8 model. you also have the 500w 13ah 48V Titan T8 model. Zero 8, Apollo Light and FluidFreeRide horizon are all basically the same scooter with some tweaks. My T8 model will arive next month directly from Unicool in China.

Thanks David - glad you liked it. And that's completely true, they're all super similar and I assume all three brands work with the same factory. Each have some small tweaks as you say. Enjoy the T8! The Light was a pleasure to ride so I assume your experience will be the same. Excellent city riding solution.

Honestly one of the most well-balanced scooters I've tried for city riding if you want a little more speed than the typical Segway/Xiaomi models. Too bad they don't sell it anymore - the City should be good as well though.

Really good review! I am still trying to decide between the Apollo Light and the Apollo City, Range is not my top priority as work is relatively close to home my only worry is that if I decide to go on a joy ride and I end up going to far I wont be able to make it home on the light as most of the recreational trails are a little further away from me. From what I see the Light and the City have relatively similar real world range but its a hard decision. Which would you recommend out of the Apollo line I was even looking at the Explore.
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! That's a good question. The battery capacity is around 30% larger on the City, so with slight added weight and more acceleration, I'd expect you can get an additional 25% range. As you mention possibly riding on trails, I would probably save up for the City or Explore. As I showcased in this video, the Light was able to handle trails, but it won't be as smooth as with the City or Explore. If you're just getting into e-scooters, either of the three will be great choices, to be honest.
@WinterIsTilted
@WinterIsTilted 3 жыл бұрын
@@eRideHero Yes after looking more into it I think I will save over the winter months and get the Explore, It will be my first scooter but id rather pay the extra cost up front rather then get the cheaper model and regret it within the first couple months. Can you change the base with another sand paper if needed? Sand paper gets dirty and how can you clean it?
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nicholas. You definitely can. I find a regular dry dish brush quite effective for that - make sure to let the grip tape dry completely before (for instance, leave it overnight). This way it comes off much more easily. It won't make your grip tape look completely new again, but it definitely helps. I like to have a few different brushes at various hardnesses depending on where O have to clean my scooter and how stubborn the dirt is.

hey what's ur stand when u compare the Etwow Gt 2020 and the Appollo light? which one is the best option for NEW YORKERS
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
Comes down to your preference. Both are great scooters but they have some differences. The Etwow is ultra-portable but doesn't achieve quite as smooth a ride as the Apollo Light. If portability is important to you, the GT 2020 wins, but in most other aspects, I'd hand the prize to the Apollo Light (which is also a bit cheaper as far as I know).

@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kargo - gonna reply in English in case it helps others. So Apollo sent me this scooter for testing, hence I did not purchase it. From my understanding, shipping is generally possible but it's quite expensive ($250-$500 I believe) so it's most likely not worth it in your case. Shipping is usually fast enough as they ship UPS - 1-3 weeks. I would suggest scouring the EU market to see if any retailers sell them - you may even reach out to Apollo to ask what EU retailers they have for a quick overview. The scooter prices are likely gonna be a bit higher but shipping should be much cheaper. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the video! So the front tire can catch a flat then? I am looking for a scooter that has both solid tires. I don't want to risk getting a flat and then going through the hassle of buying a spare tire/inner tube and then paying someone to fix it for me.
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
That is correct. The front tire can catch a flat. Bear in mind that solid rubber wheels do not provide the same level of suspension, hence more road vibrations will be felt by the rider.

@@eRideHero Thank you for the reply. I already have a scooter that has both solid tires and that's why I want to upgrade to a better and faster one as I like having both tires being the solid ones. @@JKO716 You're very welcome. Always happy to help. I think the most reliable solid tires scooter that reaches that speed is the Mercane WideWheel Pro though I haven't had the opportunity to try it hands-on. Should be available both at FluidFreeRide and Apollo Scooters.

@@eRideHero I just checked it out and to be honest I don't like the wide wheels and I know I wouldn't like it and it's way more over my budget with the $1300 price. I was looking for something around the $700 range. I have seen a couple of scooters that go up to 23mph but the tires are not solid. Thank you for replying to me and trying to help me out :)
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I am not aware of any with solid tires in that price range sadly. You could potentially change the tires on a pneumatic scooter but I guess that misses the purpose of conveniency in the first place. Hope you find a solution you're happy with. You may also consider using tire slime to improve pneumatic tire longevity and decrease the risk of flats. 😎🤟

Do you think I should get this as opposed to the GOTRAX G4? is it worth the extra money?
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
I haven't had the chance to try the G4 in-hand at this point. However, it does look very competitive for its price. The Apollo Light is most likely gonna have slightly better acceleration, speed, and range due to its bigger battery and higher power output but the G4 still looks very capable. Suspension looks better on the Light and the warranty is longer but whether it's worth the extra $250 probably comes down to how you value the above-mentioned things. But again, the G4 still looks awesome at its price!

How much of a problem was it to cut out the grip ends and install the wing lights?
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
I actually didnt cut them out. They have a tiny hole in their ends and I simply just pulled off the handles and screwed them tight on the inside - quite a workaround, haha. Not gonna lie, it took some steady hands and a good amount of patience as you have to screw them inside where you can't get your hands to. I used a pen to hold it right at the bottom while screwing it in on the outside. I could possibly take a picture of how I did it?
@johnglennie4282
@johnglennie4282 3 жыл бұрын
@@eRideHero I was wondering about putting either those, or mirrors on the end, but I'd have to cut out the end, at least for the mirrors.
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
@@johnglennie4282 Definitely a good idea. I see people use various setups for mirrors - I don't use it myself but people seem to be happy with it. Some even have helmet-mounted mirrors. I think a single mirror is usually sufficient for electric scooters and two could possibly throw you off your overview a bit (at least I've heard) but it's all about getting used to it. The Wing Lights are definitely a good idea for added piece of mind if you often ride when it gets dark.

I’d say the only competition to this guy is the Hiboy S2 pro, also gets 20+ miles of real world range, weighs 36lbs and had a lot of other nice to haves and features coming in at $549, but that front and rear suspension must be nice
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it looks to be excellent value - haven't tried it myself yet but definitely an even more affordable solution. Acceleration and motor performance probably won't be as high because it runs a 36V system as opposed to a 48V system on the Light but 19 MPH is plenty for most city commuters.

Max rider weight is listed at 220 lbs on their website. It can probably handle more than that but performance will drop a bit beyond that. That being said, it has one of the most efficient 350W motors I've tested so it should be able to riders up to 220 lbs pretty well unless you're going up steep hills.

I feel you, we all have different requirements in a scooter, I like having plenty of range as well so I don't have to worry about how and where I ride too much but it obviously comes at the expense of the added weight. You may enjoy the Apollo Explore which has both more power, larger tires and notably better range.

I’m able to do detours and stuff all the time. My Apollo light takes me from home - school - home - work - my boyfriends all in one day without a charge. That’s about 2.5 hours of riding every day. If your detours are hugely out of your way then yeah you might not make it but in my experience the battery capability is high enough to handle what you’re describing
