Need to line up some objects, different materials, different colours, different objects, line them all up and challenge him to identify the Purple Bell, the Red Plastic, and so forth to challenge his ability to recognize these objects have two qualities at once we can use to compare them. Then we can set up Wario, Shrek and something else and describe why each is different in terms he will understand. They are both plastic but they have different names and different colors.

I know the giving out Apollo touched items was kind of a joke but it might be a fun merch idea if you combo it with stickers. So if it's a metal bowl the person who buys it might get the bowl and a couple of little stickers with Apollo on them saying "metal" and "bowl" along with a timecode of exactly when in a specific video he identifies it. Alternatively I bet if you put feelers out with the students that work with Apollo they can scrounge up a bunch of random things to identify. I know at my school there were free piles in every residence hall and if it's their own bowls and stuff it would honestly probably be cool just to have him interact with their stuff

Regarding color overlap, have you looked at how these colors look like when broken into the components Apollo can see? I mean he has 4 different types of cone cells which aren't placed at quite the same places as people so they can generally identify more colors but since our green/yellow cones are most sensitive to wavelengths that are closer together there will be some colors we can distinguish they can't. Though it would be shocking if it was wario and Shrek.
