On this video, Preston has an intense conversation with an agnostic. They talk about morality, slavery, and where we get our standards from, outside of God.

As a former agnostic who found Christ, im glad you had this discussion. I pray it triggers her heart to look into the gospel. As an agnostic I was really just an undecided atheist who was to scared to admit it. I didn't like the idea of God having power or the ability to be stronger than me. I responded to My fear of God by trying to ignore him. That however didnt diminish Gods power or reality

She’s confusing morality with legality regarding slavery. Society determines what is legal, but it can never determine what is moral. The existence of slave owners 200 years ago and the elimination of slave owners today is not a testament to changing morality, rather changing legality. We make laws based upon what we think are right and wrong. Slavery was eliminated as a practice not because of a change in morality, rather through enlightenment of morality. It’s precisely because we acknowledged that slavery (chattel slavery) was wrong that we adopted laws to outlaw it.

Moriah Green First of all I hope you’re having an amazing day🥰 Please do not take this in the wrong way as I’m not trying to offend anyone. Every individual is bound to their beliefs and she can still help people and be impactful not following any sort of religion, I’m an agnostic studying to become a doctor does my belief means I’ll fail on that? No. there’s over 7 billion people on this world and we’re bound to have different opinions, that doesn’t mean we have to argue, we just have to respect each other and let everyone believe in what they want to believe as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. In the end, you’re allowed to believe that everyone should convert to catholicism as long as no one forces that conversion, I was brought up by a christian mother so I know it’s Jesus’s wish for each and every one of us love our brothers and sisters and respect their beliefs. DJ There are people who claim to be Christians that do not follow the Bible And this is why you need to separate the person from what Christianity actually teaches and the Bible says you will know a true Christian by their fruit. As a Christian we are to love the Lord our God with all our heart soul and mind and to love others as ourselves. Regarding the lgbtq community as a Christian we can not agree with their lifestyle or treat them poorly because it we can only tell them the truth: Sin separates us from our Creator and there is nothing we can do to atone for it that is why God sent his only begotten son as a sacrifice for us so that whoever believes in Him and who he claims to be will not perish but have eternal life.

And I am assuming when you say you know who gave you the Bible you are referring to the white men during the slave trade Correct? I am not sure if you know though but Christianity has been in Africa specifically in Egypt since the 1st century and in the 2nd century it reached Carthage. Without evidence, one is left to the imagination of one's own mind, or even worst, to the indoctrination of others. What then is a standard of truth without evidence? It is but a mere belief, a simple act of the imagination. No proof at all! Yet we are told not to lean on our own understanding. But how much less should we relax on the whims of our assumptions, for this is the reality of faith itself.

Moral absoluteness is not an evidence for God. Morality evolves with time. Humans basically observe actions that can preserve them, and maintain. These ideals are later passed on to later generations and solidified. It is the reason why we have less wars. Wars are threat to our survival, so we let them go.
@avdouglass3
@avdouglass3 2 жыл бұрын
@@ernestnketiah5447 You stated that "morality evolves with time." Certainly, this isn't true my fried. For example, murder (unjustly taking someone's life) has, is, and will always be wrong. Rape is wrong. Theft is wrong. Lying is wrong. Adultery is wrong. All of these behaviors are objectively wrong, no matter the era/generation/etc. You need a transcendent, unchanging, immutable source to ground morality and truth in. And that source is God. You also claimed that "wars are a threat to our survival." From an atheistic/agnostic worldview, why is it important for humans to survive? If you are subscribing to moral relativism, then nothing is objectively right, wrong, good, or evil. For instance, say I steal from you and believe that that is good for me. You disagree. What is the standard to say who is in the right or who is wrong? This is precisely what Preston is trying to get this intelligent woman to understand. I hope this helps.

@avdouglass3
@avdouglass3 2 жыл бұрын
@@dollyrevenge98 Thank you for your response. I implore you to think critically and deeply on this. What if someone believes that murdering you is best for their survival? What if someone rapes you and says that that is best for their survival? How can you justifiably say that they are wrong? By your worldview and logic, you can't. By your own words, murder, rape, theft, etc. are all instinctual. God IS the objective standard and source in which morality and truth is grounded in. I, too, struggled to understand this until God revealed Himself to me. We don't naturally desire God and spiritual things. We suppress truth because we enjoy our sinful lifestyles. Logic clearly proves God's existence. But It is our evil hearts that reject Him.

@@aminahsrichards Did you read the scriptures I cited, if so, where's the all inclusivity in them?? There's no John 3v16 that say God loves the whole world! In St. John ch 3v1 before verse 16, the conversation is between two real Jews and in verse 14, also before verse 16, he only lifted the serpent unto the children of Israel! Had he died for the while world, would you be able to read, St. John 17v9 or James ch. 4v4 or John 18v20 or Mathew 1v21 or Mathew 15v24 or Joel ch 2v27?????? Romans 10v12-13? Romans ch9 v1-4 and beyond (which comes before verse 10) clearly shows what nation/race of people THE ADOPTION, THE GLORY, The COVENANT(S) (supported by Hebrews 8v8), The GIVING OF THE LAW(supported in Psalms 147v19-20) THE SERVICE OF GOD and THE PROMISES are all for according to the flesh(not spirit) who're ISRAELITES! Titus 2v11-12? Here's Titus 1v3 which comes before 2v11-12: But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandments of God 'OUR' Savior! As I showed you above, in Psalms 147v19-20, the commandments were only given tp the Israelites! So therefore, the 'men' in verses 11 and 12, which come after verse 3, can only be pertaining to the Israelites. 2nd Peter 3v9? Simon Peter was/is an apostle of TMH and here was an instruction from Jesus himself to the apostles: Matthew ch, 1ov5-6: These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Who are the lost sheep? Mathew ch 2v6! And in 1st Peter ch, 2v9 TMH GOD set the Israelites above all nations! And you should really read and absorb 2nd Peter ch 3v2 too! 1st Corinthians ch, 15v22? Here's verse 15v3, (before verse 22): For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for OUR sins according to the scriptures. Only the nation/race of Israel can sin because that's the only nation that was given the laws! Sin is the transgression of the law as proven in 1st John, 3v4! Also, read 1st Corinthians 12v1-2(which comes before ch15v22) as more proof that those being targeted in Corinth were Israelites with the lifestyles of the natural gentiles/heathens, as many Negro Christians do here in Babylon and their other captivities (jurisdictions). Again, the bible isn't an all inclusive book from Genesis to Revelation! What you're dispensing is all-inclusive plantation Christianity that you cannot support as I've proven above! Take note that I supported all that I wrote with scriptures! At this point you should know that I believe in the Bible and its trueness, when it's rightly divided! My(possessive) people/race/nation were created with more than an invitation!

In Jesus Christ death, the invitation became open for anyone in the world to be saved. God is no respecter of persons and He proves that in scripture over and over again. I pray that God touches her heart. All we can do is pray for her. What is so sad is that many people believe in so many things but they were never alive when those things took place but when it comes to if God exists, it turns into an argument. There are many books that are written that aren’t true but people still believe in it. A question that I would have asked would have been “Who wakes you in the morning?” Being alive is only by God’s grace. We don’t have to be alive. Someone is battling cancer. That could be anyone of us. Society does not wake me up. God does!

I delved into pseudo consciousness, metaphysics, science and the likes and yet it still pointed back to Nothingness because I had and those like me, had no basis for our thoughts or conclusions. She kept mentioning relativism but yet most of her argument was relative and societal and what's "normal" according to those who make up this world. Unfortunately for her and others like her, the world is ever changing and when it directly effects her, she will then break out her moral ruler and try to draw a line but it will be too late because she already allowed the boundaries of TRUTH to be invaded. Also, could you do some videos where you preach the gospel to unbelievers. I think it would be effectual to show how once the gospel is given how it causes a God experience to happen in the heart. Then compare this with debating with one's mind. This could be such an awesome comparison. Change happens in the heart first (from my experience). Lastly: It would also be great to see you do this with demonstration involved i.e. word of knowledge, prophetic, healing. What agnostic community does not understand is that yes we don't know. But with Faith is comes a supernatural experience, which is what many fail to understand. Jesus Christ will literally reveal himself to you in a way that you will understand on a personal level. The first step is Faith, which is credited to you as righteousness, because you know deep down that their is a Creator and The Bible tells you that you can know this. It's not Blind Faith. It's a personal Relationship which can only be understood by taking that first step of praying to Lord.

I appreciate the conversation and the example of contending for faith. I must say, I was tickled when Preston had to flat out ask, "[So do you think the slaves were okay with slavery]?" This also goes to show that just because you articulate or present well and have knowledge (1 Co 1:27) means nearly nothing (this goes for the body of Christ too, some repeat phrasings to appear annointed in a manner). The woman has a point about some hiding behind religion rather than being accountable, *but the frailty of man does not define our God*. I'm believing for this young woman, she will one day contend for the faith and share the truth of Jesus Christ by revelation. Preston planted a seed, but she will only receive by a personal encounter. God will do it and she will 100% know what she believes and why. God bless Bold TV! Really good.

At this point, "never mind objective truth, atheism, morality, etc". Those are all good topics for another day, but she has given you the door, and the question you really should have asked was "Why do you believe in some sort of spiritual being as opposed to naturalism?". Thats the first thing you really need to understand, and then you would need to understand "what is it about Christianity that makes her think its a myth, as opposed to the spiritual being she believes in", etc. Her answers to those questions is what should have driven the "direction" of the rest of the discussion

People sold themselves as slaves to pay off their debts, so that their masters could provide for them. However, God is against the kind of slavery that we know today, the kind that black people faced in America, the kind that is solely because of someone's skin color/nationality. When Israelites were forcibly enslaved by Egyptians for their nationality, God destroyed the Egyptians and fought for the escape of the Israelites

We can be logical with our words but we have to be inconsistent if we're denying objective morality cause it's just obvious ! Thanks for the great discussions as always, I hope you do more soon. I really enjoy your videos !

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. It’s frustrating, she argues for relativism the whole time, and then tries to use the term as a negative descriptor for his argument. She has a very flawed understanding of philosophy. She uses this flawed understanding to justify her beliefs in a way that is very similar to God of the gaps.

So she was playing a game all through the conversation. The kind of Vain Philosophy that Paul warned us about. She made sure the conversation never moved forward just so that she does not have to deal with the Truth by using vain philosophy. People think that life is a game and educate themselves into foolishness. Atheists and Agnostics usually want to stand on the steep slope of moral or cultural relativism, without thinking through its logical conclusion; essentially eating their cake and having it. I pray God touches her conscience in the Name of Jesus Christ. Her problem is not really a problem of the head, it is a problem of the heart. Once her heart is opened to receive, she'll realize her folly. Mr. Preston, you have planted the seeds, a waterer would be sent by God, but I pray that when the Vinedresser comes, her heart is not hardened. Thank you for your work for the Lord Mr. Preston, it has been a blessing to me.

I think one of the phrases I didn't hear that it sounded like you were looking for was "intrinsic value" this is what humans moral compass reveals. It probably lands better than 'all humans know they are made in the image of God.' I think that the fact we share a moral compass points to intrinsic value. If we can agree that humans have intrinsic value, we can then suggest where it came from: being made in the image of God, who sees value and objective goodness in the essence of His creation. If we don't follow this trail, however, it sounds as though you're jumping to conclusions (i.e. you agree this thing is wrong therefore you were made in the image of God).
