@Julie not at all what happened there...but we can agree to disagree on our perception or their convo. Personally i don't see how someone stating facts translates to "been watching t.v" as she stated ... Also she agreed on the point he was stating to support her belief in science but once he started comparing it to what he believes she was not there for it. The fact of the matter is he was not in any way disrespecting her knowledge or method of acquiring the information that she believed to be true. He was not "erroneous" in any way. On a basic level, Every Scientific fact is bounded by time space and matter.
@lalaland61834 жыл бұрын
@Julie to sum up my lengthy statement: he was trying to find common ground between the two beliefs (ideologies) and once he started to compare it science she was not there for it. And that's ok. But on his part not at all disrespectful. What is disrespectful is when you think that another person is beneath you. As a scientist and Theist I've witness this happen often on both sides.

Yet, all theists fail to present actual existing gods as proof that gods are real which leads them to fallacious arguments and reasoning - this is why these theistic apologists and proselytizers need to have one on one discussions with people, because they don't have actual existing gods as proof to prove to everyone in one fell swoop that gods are in fact real. If theists had proof then we'd be observing gods actually existing, and theists wouldn't need faith (pretend proof) ...but theists don't have proof. It is a fact that gods are not observed nor proved to be real, this is why theism requires faith (pretend proof) in order to believe in claimed-yet-unproven gods.

This comment is two years old but I still 100% agree. A lot of others perception of Christians isn’t on exactly what we believe but how we preach it. It’s so important we have a gentle and patient spirit when interacting with people like this. I always loved prestons approach on this. “people won’t care until they know that you care.” Its so important to not only be well versed in Gods word but to know how to spread it in a way that’ll reach others. So homeboy was basically bragging of his spiritual ability to “astral travel” through mediation which is common in new age ,ancestral , and other religions. Such individuals fall into the trap of believing they themselves are gods because they can manifest their desires from within. And I think this is where we as Christians fall short when approached by such individuals discussions. we tend to not confront their spiritual realities head on. They see us as ignorant powerless fools with no supernatural power which we do have but struggle to articulate. These videos are excellent ! I love Preston’s composure and how he controls the flow of the conversation.

I had this video saved for a long time now. I have been reading the Word, praying and asking God for wisdom and knowledge everyday. I also asked for him to reveal to me. I read his word and take something from it all the time and then knowledge I learn from the world always gets me to second guessing. When you started speaking on the moral standpoint and the single celled organisms, tears came into my eyes. Like I said, I pray, ever since I began reading Genesis the beginning of this year, my questions are being answered. It may not be right then and there, but slowly truth is being revealed to me. God bless you with more blessings, wisdom and knowledge my brother!
