The only difference between the Old and New Testament is how we atone for our sins. In the Old Testament we were allowed to atone for our sins through animal sacrifices brought to the priest by the person making the offer and various washings. In the New Testament we accept the sacrifice of the Messiah who lost his earthly body only to be raised with a spiritual body, the same body we await in the resurrection. This sacrifice was made and offered by Yah for the atonement of our sins, to reconcile the damage created by Adam. That is the only difference between the two covenants, atonement.

@@archiebarrier5633 Because it's a false faith. True faith produces works because God predestined all His people to walk in His works (Ephesians 2:10)... Those works are apart from salvation. We are saved wholly and totally by grace through our faith. This is why Paul could speak of the man who "works not but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness" (Romans 4:5).

I grew up in a Bible church and I was I involved in Campus Crusade For Christ where we went out as teens to knock on doors. I don't think churches should just send a bunch of teenagers out to do that but anyway. I've since educated myself to different religions. I was pretty much in shock when he told me what they believe. I got married in 75, had 4 children, and along the way, I've shared faith with anyone, doing it as the Lord led me. @@shanewise7625 Claim one - A Different Jesus. The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ does not teach a different Jesus than that of Christianity when you actually examine what we truly teach. All that we teach supports the Biblical accounts related to who Christ is, His ministry, and His death, burial, and resurrection. It is a false claim by Jeff Durbin and those who make false assertions without evidence to back up claim. They are lying and being deceptive in their approach. If anyone is preaching a "false Jesus" it is modern Christianity when you test the creeds and confessions against the Bible and realize that the "Christ" of Reformed Theology is incapable of saving all people, is based on second century gnostic and third century heresy. Claim two: Misquotes and misuses Joseph Smith's King Follett Discourse and even denies the very teaching of Deification that Christ himself taught in Matthew 19, 20, throughout the Gospel of John, and even what John writes and reveals in Revelation. Paul himself in Romans declares we are heirs and joint heirs with Christ. Not only this, but St. Athanasius also writes in his work the Incarnation that God became man so that man may become God. C.S. Lewis, revered Theologian accepted and held to the doctrine of deification. Luther and Calvin also held to the nature and doctrine of Theosis and Deification of humanity. Claim three: Misquoting 2 Nephi 25:23 out of context because when you actually take a critical examination of 2 Nephi 25:23, you find that Nephi is referring to the nature of maintaining obedience to the Law of Moses and that it points to the reality of Christ and the atonement and therefore they obey the law and look forward to the Grace of God that is found through Christ himself. Claim four: Misquoting Ephesians 2:8-9 because of their own biased and prejudicial belief in reformed theology and reading that into the text without allowing the text itself to be properly examined to say what it truly means. Writing to the Church in Ephesus, the Apostle makes an astounding statement of truth: “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. (Ephesians 1:4-5). Here, we find that the Apostle Paul is referring to the plan of salvation that was established prior to human existence. Prior to Adam and Eve, and the Garden of Eden. In this context, and based on the Greek term for Predestinated, we understand Paul referring to the idea and truth that those whom he is writing to were “determined before, ordained, predestinate” to be heirs of salvation through Jesus Christ. On the surface, this may support the doctrine of predestination within reformed theology (which is for another discussion altogether). However, when fully understood, we see it as fulfillment of God’s will and purpose in that the plan of salvation through Jesus Christ is meant to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. Thus, God, beforehand established the boundaries and limits of the Plan of Salvation - not who will benefit from the saving grace. Another phrase the Apostle Paul utilizes is the nature of adoption. Here, we must understand this in light of the fact that Paul, being a Jew and Pharisee, is writing to Gentile Christians. To them, they are being adopted into the blessings inherit to the Abrahamic Covenant. Having this in our mindset - Paul is again establishing the nature and purpose of the Plan of Salvation as it pertains to the atonement of Jesus Christ. This is supported by the context of Ephesians 1:7-14. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both wich are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Paul carries this thought toward the justification of the Gentile believers at Ephesus in the second Chapter. Furthermore, the Apostle continues on with Ephesians 2:10: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto Good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Most Evangelicals only quote Ephesians 2:8-9 and then fail to include verse 10 contextually. Thus, Ephesians 2:8-10 bridges the idea and nature of the doctrine of Justification by Faith in Christ as the first principle of the Gospel. First, unto the Jew and second, unto those who are Gentiles adopted into the covenant promises of God. In his commentary on the Epistle to the Ephesians - Hodges gives this analysis: There are three principal topics treated of in this Section. First, the spiritual state of the Ephesians before their conversion. Second, the change which God had wrought in them. Third, the design for which that change had been affected. I. The state of the Ephesians before their conversion, and the natural state of men universally, is one of spiritual death, which includes-1. A state of sin. 2. A state of subjection to Satan and to our own corrupt affections. 3. A state of condemnation, vs. 1-3. II. The change which they had experienced was a spiritual resurrection; concerning which the apostle teaches-1. That God is its author. 2. That it is a work of love and grace. 3. That it was through Christ, or in virtue of union with him. 4. That it involves great exaltation, even an association with Christ in his glory, vs. 4-6. III. The design of this dispensation is the manifestation through all coming ages of the grace of God. It is a manifestation of grace-1. Because salvation in general is of grace. 2.. Because the fact that the Ephesian Christians believed or accepted of this salvation was due not to themselves but to God. Faith is his gift. 3. Because good works are the fruits not of nature, but of grace. We are created unto good works. ccel.org/ccel/hodge/ephesians/ephesians.iii.ii.html?queryID=15699806&resultID=133799 As established, the nature of Paul’s discourse gives us insight and understanding into the nature and purpose of the atonement. We, ourselves of our own merit, could never provide the necessary sacrifice needed to bring about our own justification. It is through our faith in Jesus Christ that we are then justified by God’s grace. based on these four claims alone - Jeff Durbin is lying, being dishonest, and is engaged in deceptive and manipulative tactics that - upon full examination and testing against the Scriptures exposes Him as a false teacher.

@@rodney3297 Hey welcome to the family of God! So awesome! My comment comes from a pleading with God to soften his heart, you are right, it is God’s will to save this man or not, to soften his heart or not, but God does want us to ask him. Here’s a verse that I think applies: “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Asking God to soften this man’s heart is completely appropriate. But you’re right, if he doesn’t, then it isn’t his will. God still wants us to proclaim the Gospel even though it may not be God’s will to save someone we proclaim it to, do we still proclaim the Gospel? YES, because God commanded us to do so. @@rodney3297 I would add to this guys response that God has also provided us with what's known as his "prescriptive will." That is 1.dont murder. 2. Don't steal. 3. Don't commit adultery, etc. And this connects to what they discussed in the video about enforcing morality publicly, that we are to obey God's laws and teach others in the marketplace to do the same (see Matt 28 great commission.) Your question regards what's sometimes referred to as God's "hidden will" or "secretive will" which pretty much regards HOW everything in history and the universe will end up working out according to how God wants it. Example: you shall not murder (God's prescriptive will.)--- Jesus being murdered on a cross according to God's plan (God's secretive will.). So we can always pray for everyone to come to a saving knowledge of faith and to be led in obedience to Christ and all that he's commanded while still respecting God's secretive will for how all things are going to come to a conclusion.

Taking advantage of a good man with a 3 on 1 debate when he is obviously unprepared for such. Jeff is so skilled at putting words into people’s mouths. He loves telling Mormons what they believe when it is simply not true. He is simply lying when he says, “Mormonism explicitly teaches it is by your works (you are saved)”. The verse you quote in 2 Nephi (“after all we could do”) is clarified in Alma, “it has been all we could do to repent of all our sins.” Ours works do not replace the atonement one iota. There are actually more scriptures that seemingly tell us works are necessary for salvation as there are that seem to say the opposite. For example James 2: 14-14,17-- "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." You also must understand what Paul means by the “law”. Let's be honest, ALL faiths have something you must DO to QUALIFY for salvation, even if it is simply believing, otherwise all would be saved. The extent of this qualification is what separates them. For Mormons we qualify by faith, repentance and baptism. We do not and cannot earn it. We also must endure to the end. (Mark 13:13) Let me repeat, our “works” do not replace the atonement of Jesus Christ at all. Jesus did not preach easy-believism. Our complete discipleship is required. Note that the apostle Paul is the ONLY person who speaks in terms of salvation being of grace and not of works. Could it be that his writings are difficult to understand, particularly those writings concerning salvation? The apostle Peter thought so. Here is some of what Peter had to say about the writings of Paul as they relate to salvation: “And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” (2 Pet 3:15-16) Notice that Peter says that Paul wrote, “according to the wisdom given unto him.” According to this scripture, followers of Jesus at the time of Peter (and now repeated in our own time) were misunderstanding and twisting Paul’s writings on salvation, so much so that they were forfeiting that very salvation. In other words, it could be surmised that they wanted to be saved in their sins, not from their sins (Matt 1:21). It is obvious that many today continue to be attracted to this same kind of “easy believism.” Over and over I have heard Jeff condemn people for their “experience” to know the truth. Now I hear him say HE had and experience. WOW. How do you trust it Jeff? The Muslims say the same thing (as you always say). Just cut through it all and condemn James 1: 5. The veil of the Temple symbolized Christ--the advocate between us and the Father. When it was torn, it symbolized Christ being torn in His supreme sacrifice. This symbolically showed us that He opened the way and gave all access to the Father. Christ and the veil were restored. Interesting you admit, “not all these videos go to KZbin.” I have to wonder what the deciding factors are. You have to dominate a helpless lamb?

The United States is currently under judgment. God is allowing us to pull folly down on our own heads, which we’re doing industriously, and the only way out is repentance. We are so far in that there is now no way to nuance this, there’s no way to extricate ourselves. It’s going to have to be Jesus. It will have to be straightforward; straight up the middle repentance.

An address by Mark E. Peterson was widely circulated by BYU's religious faculty in the 1950s and 1960s and they used the "less valiant in the pre-existence" explanation to justify racial segregation, a view which Lowell Bennion and Kendall White, among other members, heavily criticized. The apostle Joseph Fielding Smith also taught that black people were less faithful in the preexistence. A 1959 report by the U. S. Commission on Civil Rights found that the LDS Church in Utah generally taught that non-whites had inferior performance in the pre-earth life.

Some are already open, and some are just their but not doing more to it, The LDS Guard is just being who he is. Both in what he believes in reality and for what he believes in spirit. A southern Baptist, Methodist Lutheran individual church are capable of acting the same. No guarantees in life. But a true Christian church regardless of affiliation will not treat you in such ways. On another day perhaps the ppl you talk to in the LDS church would have treated you differently. No church saves anyone….only Jesus saves. That and that alone if you trust in the one who actually saves not one church will open up so much for you. No denomination saves only Jesus and him alone saves. Wow, he actuality said that we can believe in any JESUS that we want to believe in. He says we can make up a fuzzy love GOD named jesus and will be ok. I know he doesn't believe this. He knows what he has been taught does not make sense, but he feels trapped, when confronted. Son, we love you.

I was a Mormon for about 10 years. But the teachings of the Book of Mormon tell a story about Lehi and his family that were also saved in the Great Flood. The Bible says only 8 people were saved. Then there is heavenly mother, they believe that God is still giving revelation, so the Bible is not a closed canon. They say God had to work his way to become God and live on a planet Kolob . I have read about meso America and there are no archeological proof of there existence. None. They are nice people teaching false teachings. They say Christ and Satan were brothers. They are a cult of nice folk headed to hell

In these United States there is a line drawn of moral wrongs and secular allowances. I think that's what the young guy was trying to say

It’s not surprising that someone would have trouble believing Christianity if they don’t even believe or practice their own false religion faithfully. Mormon leadership should be worried…

Sadly this is not exclusive to the Mormon's religion. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Non Theistic beliefs and so on all have people like said.
