The conviction was so real with this one. So much to pray about. I do not want to be bitter, I want to give it all to God. I don’t like the way I’ve been treated but I don’t want to carry it anymore. It’s heavy and gross. Thank you so much for being a vessel for this message. I am grateful for your love of scripture. I don’t know if I’ve watched one so beautiful before. It’s crazy how conviction is so painful but so beautiful.

Man I am yearning to be loved by my fellow brothers and sisters. I belong to a pretty large church (over 3K members) and it is so difficult to build relationships there. I went to a men’s group which I was invited to the other day. I was a brand new face to everyone there. I walked in as they were about to begin. I shook a few hands and introduced myself waved to everyone else and sat down.. I came hoping that I could begin to build with brothers in Christ… When the meeting was over I stood up and stood in the front of the room and waited for someone, anyone to come say hello and to welcome me. And it didn’t happen. A couple guys shook my hand to say goodbye as they were leaving. And I just was so sad to know not one person cared enough to speak to me for even 5 minutes to get to know me. I stayed until just about everyone left and I was waiting for these 3 brothers to be done talking so I could introduce myself and talk. I finally got the attention of one guy and we talked for a few minutes. I wish the church acted like the church. It is so hard being a single Christian man living in this world today. We are all fallen, but if the Spirit is within us, I would hope to see true Christian love and I truly have not seen it very often in the last almost 3 years of being saved. God help us.

Amen brother. Thanks for this descriptive reminder. Sometimes, I like to go by the idiom… “be the friend you would want.” I think it tracks with love your neighbor as yourself. You can’t fix others, you can however change your reactions/approach. Would you want a friend who went out of his way to transparently introduce themselves and the intentions of their heart? I would think so. So - do that. Be the friend you would want.

I know my opinion doesn't really matter, but after reading your comment I was placing myself in your shoes. I thought of excuses for every person at that church. Some probably had no time to talk because they were busy with other worldly responsibilities, such as children, other engagements, work, etc. Your experience slides right into the context of Pastor Durbin's sermon. Instead of being sad that no one really took the time to speak with you, give those others grace and forgiveness for being short or ignoring you and your humble intentions to meet new brothers and sisters. Don't be hard on yourself. I am assuming you are based on my interpretation of your comment and I could be wrong, but go easy. I would like to hear from you after a few more attempts at the church men's group get together to see if you have at that point in time met a friend.

I like the sentiment but grace is not opposed to obedience. Obedience to God's commands equates to love of God. "Do we then make void the law through faith? CERTAINLY NOT! On the contrary, we establish the law. (Rom 3:31). "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? CERTAINLY NOT! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? (Rom 6:1-2)' "What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? MAY IT NEVER BE!" (Rom 6:15)

Calvinism is false doctrine. Every soul has a chance to repent. God chose all of us. Jesus died for ALL.
