I was a convert to Mormonism, after being raised Catholic. A couple of years ago, I started having doubts over why coffee is forbidden but you can have as much coke as you please by their own health code. I was studying Nutrition at the time (as part of a Bachelor of Health Sciences Degree), so my doubts were Nutrition based... I stopped going to the Mormon Church and returned - to my mum's great pleasure - to the Roman Catholic Church, and got married in a Catholic church (to an Agnostic). I still believed much of what the Mormons taught, until about a week or so ago, when I read stories from protectldschildren.org and I remembered having intrusive, explicit questions as an adult, and everything has come crashing down. I bought a new Bible, one that hasn't been tainted by Mormonism, and I am relearning about Christ, much of it is coming back to what I was taught in Catholic RE lessons, but I've discovered that I really don't know Christ as much as I thought I did. I will never return to the Mormon Church, just thinking about what I participated in, in my day to day life and in the temple, makes me nauseous and very anxious. It never ceases to amaze me that before I learned about the Mormon Church, I never needed antidepressants or anything like that, even though I had times of mild depression, but a couple of years before I started having doubts about the health code, I had to start taking antidepressants. That so called church, does not bring joy. It causes neuroses, and misery

Maeri-Jo Davey So you gave up on the concept of revealed religion and let scripture dependent religion fill its place. How can you be so fickle as to think scripture dependent religion is nothing more than the philosophies of men mingled with scripture, after having once embraced the revealed religion of the Saints? Why are you you not searching for the true revealed religion of the Saints if you feel the Latter-day Saints have not got it right? Your argument against the LDS Church reveals your intent clearly. It isn’t true religion that you are worried about. Its simply that you are not made of the stuff that can honestly embrace and live the faith.

Hi, This is a heartfelt comment to anyone who believes Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. I was a born and raised Mormon for 30 years and I was deeply devoted because I thought it was true. I felt God's presence many times at the church services and thought those feelings and my family's spiritual experiences were happening because we were part of the one true church. The leaders and members taught that every good experience or feeling etc is because of being a member of the one true church. I didn't understand at the time that God could have just visited me since I was truly seeking Him. I didn't know that I was supposed to test the spirits to see if it was from God or not. In other words I didn't know to check the bible to see if what I was experiencing or feeling etc is in God's character to say or do something or not, because what I was experiencing could be the enemy or my own thoughts or the warm feeling of being part of a group that I loved deeply etc. I didn't read my bible as a Mormon since I thought it had errors but after carefully studying the evidence out there, I found it was true. The bible fulfills hundreds of prophesies and there is geological evidence of the places and people found in the bible. The dead sea scrolls show that the bible is the same as it was 2,000 years ago. The book of Mormon has none of these prophesies fulfilled and geological evidence. Plus reformed Egyptian is a made up language, scholarly reference works on languages do not acknowledge the existence of either a "reformed Egyptian" language or "reformed Egyptian" script as it was described by Joseph Smith. There is no archaeological, linguistic, or other evidence of the use of Egyptian writing in the ancient Americas. Joseph Smith didn't think anyone would figure this out because that is before people know how to use the Rosetta stone that allowed people to understand Egyptian hieroglyphs-a script made up of small pictures that were used originally in ancient Egypt for religious texts. I was blown away when I read mounting evidence that Joseph Smith did divination and was a liar etc. He was not the beloved saint I was taught he was. I truly hope that you will research for yourself about the real things that Joseph Smith did and believed that the LDS, RLDS, FLDS, etc. does not teach! I left the Mormon religion because I was not true after all, It was the hardest thing I ever went through, I ended up losing all my family and friends. My love for the biblical Jesus is greater than my family. God is faithful and he gave me a new family and so much more. He is the one I put all my faith and trust in. I read and study the bible daily to understand it and reject anything belief I had that is different from the bible. I sincerely hope you pray and consider the things I said. If you have any questions or concerns you can always ask. Take care.

There is so much coming to light, bicarbonate soda, turpentine therapy, MMS. Look at alternatives like Dr John Bergman, Dr Glidden, Dr Jennifer Daniels. Not allopathic medicine run by the drugs companies. The UK has the cancer act 1939, why hide this at the start of WWII, designed to protect and control how cancer can be treated. Google it. God Bless. PS I think cancer is not the disease but the bodies reaction to a parasite, which it tries to smother.

Attention everybody. Observation here. EVER NOTICE? Ever notice that NONE of these inconsiderate people who publish videos like thee above video are ever Catholic?

By the way, WHY is that? It is that the Catholics talk just a little bit TOOOOOOO MUCH about Good Works in order therefore for Catholicism to be attractive to thee anti-Mormon christian mentality. Thee anti-Mormon christian mentality is that ''since Jesus already paid the ransom ALL that you have to do is just believe, NO WORKS REQUIRED''! The MOTIVATION behind thee above and all other anti-Mormon christian videos is to make the church look not true to PAY BACK the Mormons for talking about GOOD WORKS! Good works causes thee anti-Mormon Christians (self stamped Christians) to question themselves, in other words. Good works triggers thee anti-Mormon Christians thoughts to realize that they themselves only just want to say ''I believe'' even though works is required too, that is.

The man in this video was very calm and curious and smiled when he heard things that were true. I was raised Mormon and couldn't figure out what was wrong with me, why couldn't I be like everyone else and believe? At one point i decided that I wasn't a good person and tried to accept it. I did things i knew were wrong and thats when I accepted Jesus and what he'd done for me. I'm 60 now and haven't been Mormon for 30 years. My huge Mormon family still hold on to the idea I'll come around some day. Watching these videos makes me want to read the Bible so that maybe I could help my family understand better some day.

It was believers that worked miracles, that had the belief to speak to christ about what they did in his name. He says "I never knew; you depart from me, you workers of lawlessness". It clearly points to workers of lawlessness - people that do not follow the laws of God. How can you truly know and follow christ if he is the word manifest and you don't follow the word.... We are meant to be following the word made flesh and doing as he did... Meant to be following the instructions and laws of god as that is what he represented and what he did.

The way Jeff compared Mohammed and Islam with Charles T Russel and Jehovah witnesses with Joseph Smith and Mormonism... was absolutely awesome!!! The best comparison of the main cults of our time. Which I would include SDA and Oneness with those first groups. Very good job Pastor Jeff. Dr Walter Martin would be proud!

tim spangler In an epthetical sense. That is actually a belief of many protestant denominations. Many protestants believe Micheal the Archangel to be an epithet of Christ. Jehovas Witness on the other hand believe him not be God, and for him to be Micheal the Archangel in a legitimate ontological sense, rather then a mere epithet.
@lionofthecherubim44866 жыл бұрын
tim spangler Do you understand English? Did I say I thought Jesus was Micheal? No. I merely relayed the fact that it is a commonly found trait of protestant denominations to apply Micheal as an ephitet for Jesus. Yes, they are in error for doing so. But blunt heresy? Not quite. An ephitet is merely an ephitet.

It was so hard not to cry listening to him utter all these doubts. There is something so moving about people coming to the Truth. Also, is it not amazing how absolutely sensical, fluid, and straightforward conversations are where logic and consistency is present? Pair this with a refutation video and just revel in the disparity between those two interactions. it highlights rational, logical discussion's presence vs nonsense so powerfully.

@@Tecom38415 Repenting is a change of mind into another direction. If you truly recognize you are a sinner, and if yoy truly no longer desire to live in your sin, now trust in the Jesus and his saving work on the cross you are saved and all your sins are forgiven. The Holy Spirit is in you and you are free to have full relationship with God. But be warned that true belief and trust causes changes and fruits, if you continue living in constant, unrepentant sin without any effort and deep desire to change, I would question if you truly believe.

It is amazing to me that I could go 29 years hearing that gospel message but not truly hearing it. It is powerful once you realize how depraved you are and how desperate your condition is. A free pamphlet called "The Holiness of God" did this for me when I read a breakdown of Isaiah's distress over the sin of just his mouth before God. I thank God so much for opening my eyes and changing my heart. Currently looking for a church for my family. God bless you all.

I'm on Jeff's street conversations marathon, and I'm in awe of how the Holy Spirit is working through him. I can only dream of being this knowledgeable and precise with scripture and skilled argumentation. It's obvious that this is not Jeff working on his own, its is the Holy Spirit using him as a tool for God's glory. Praise the Lord! I would be so happy to do God's work like this, but my sin is holding me back, as I can't live a somewhat normal life, I am not a worthy vessel for the Holy Spirit, as I sin too often, even I know I should not, so I'm depriving the Father of opportunity to use me as His messenger. I pray every day but I'm weak in my faith and therefore I fall back into my sinful ways way too often. What should I do, oh.

Patrick Norris is saving souls not part of Gods work for man? Isn’t it a good deed? Isn’t it what God wants? if so wouldn’t doing good deeds be what Gods wants as well as helping the sick and poor? I would think that God wants more than simply wants more from us.

One thing I thnk that not many people seem to grasp and that is causing loads of confusion, is that there is a huge difference between doing good deeds in an attempt to follow a written code of law, as opposed to deeds done motivated by the living Spirit of God. When trying to follow a list of rules the initiator of your good deeds is you. You put the whole responsibility in carrying them out on yourself. But since human effort does not bring about the righteous life God desires then you eventually fail and wind up very frustrated. People tend to think of Legalism as nothing more than trying to gain righteousness through works, but it is more than that. It is also the fact that we try to choose and carry out our own "good deeds". But what Psalm 127:1 says is that "unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain". So rather than arduously trying to figure out how to best follow the written code of law, we need to consider what Paul meant by what he wrote in Romans 7:6: "But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the NEW WAY of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code." So what is this new way? Well if you read through the book of Acts then you'll see that most of what you read about that the apostles did was obeying "living" commandments that came throught the Holy Spirit. Whether it was giving sight to the blind, travelling to specific places to preach the gospel, suffering persecution for the sake of Christ, and so on, it was all done through inspiration. What we need to do, rather than focusing on trying to follow the law of Moses is to follow the Spirit, just like the apostles did. How do we know that it is the Holy Spirit we are following? Well if we know Christ, then we also know the Holy Spirit. Otherwise our faith is in vain. But having said that, we need to understand that whatever we feel the Spirit inspiring us to do, it will line up with scripture. It does not have to be anything dramatic either. If suddenly you feel compassion for someone in need and decide to help them out, then there is a good chance that it is the Spirit working inside you to do what God wants you to do: "For we are Gods handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do".

This is probably my favorite Apologia video so far! Loved seeing this guy asking questions and seeking truth earnestly, and seeing and hearing how Jeff responds with such wisdom and knowledge. However, why didn’t he pray for the guy on the spot? He said “I’ll be praying for you”...why not pray right then and there? I’ve found this to be very moving and impactful for others, putting what we’re discussing into action. Perhaps something got cut from the video, but it certainly doesn’t appear that way, especially with them parting ways at the end.

Matthew 6:5-6 KJV And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Pastor Jeff is extremely knowledgeable and is outstanding at evangelizing. I hope to be gain all that knowledge and be as effective when needed someday. One small problem, though. He said, essentially, there are no more apostles and prophets. Actually, the five-fold ministry mentioned in Ephesians 4:12 is alive and well. I wouldn't want to be in a ministry that didn't have at least a pastor, teacher, and prophet. I pray as he continues to study God's Word and receive revelation that he be open to God showing him the life and necessity of the five-fold ministry. Shalom to him, his ministry, and his household in Yeshua's name.
