Mile 1053 and a 26.5 mile day! That's progress. I remember your first videos just starting out on the trail doing 8 and 12 mile days. You've come a long way. The 5th grader getting excited about meeting a thru-hiker was cute. Beautiful Mountain Laurel.

Yeah. The trail legs have come in, but also the days are longer and the terrain is different.

Imagine if you had to have a key to all those padlocks LOL!! Congrats on entering Maryland! First time I have heard you breathing hard on the trail, it wore me out hearing you, lol! Love to hear how excited the kid knowing you are a thru hiker, you made his day! Great History on the trail!! Great views!! Great on the 26'5 miles, yall were kicking it!! welcome to Maryland! You were looking for the state line sign in the wrong place. The Potomac River is entirely in MD, so the sign is not in the iddle of the rriver.

Hahaha. Don't have to be a 5th grader to be excited seeing a thru hiker (I do too). One time we were hiking and a little boy told his dad "Look, they have REAL hiking sticks". We never know what will plant a seed to make someone want to do something.

It’s not the rocks at the beginning of the climb that’s bad but the rocks at the end when it’s harder to lift those feet up where the increase of tripping can happen.

Hey Chuck! I read that those padlocks on the bridge are "lovelocks". A couple walks onto the bridge, places the lock, then tosses the key into the water below as a symbol of their everlasting love! Pretty cool! NPS periodically removes the locks, though.
