Some autumnal looking clouds today! But that sunrise was stunning! Ditching the full pack makes you feel like you could run like a mountain goat!

Having watched 177 episodes of your journey, I can't picture you without a beard!

Hahahaha. I’ll keep most of the beard, but I usually keep it close cropped.

Again, those ponds remind me when I went camping and canoeing up on LakeCaucomgomuc and then up to Round Pond. While there, had a Moose hang out in the lake by my campsite and eventually brought her calf towards me(which scared the crap out of me)but it turn out all good. I absolutley love Maine; from the wilderness areas to the beautiful shoreline.

Mike sure was a gracious trail angel. We sometimes meet angels unawares. 😇 I also follow Stella Hikes and Taylor the Nahamsha Hiker. Taylor has a new baby now. She straps the baby on and they go hiking. Thanks for all the great views today. Take care.

Do t know why you have t seen any moose yet. In fact the area around Rangley is known to have a lot of them.

Moose scat is everywhere, but they must hide very well

Hay bandit I have a question for you in your travels so far along the Appalachian trail how many people have you seen using a hammock because I do plan by 2026 or 2027 to walk the Appalachian trail and right now all I have is a hammock & tarp setup if I need to buy a tent well id have to buy a tent please let me know cuz I would really like to know Happy trails and God bless I know you're getting closer to the 100-mile wilderness and then after that would be katahdin again Happy trails and God bless
@ChuckHowell-Outdoors3 ай бұрын
I’m looking at a hammock right now. Tents outnumber them, but there are quite a few folks who use hammocks
@dalevodden13593 ай бұрын
@@ChuckHowell-Outdoors yeah thank you is when I walk the trail I plan on using a hammock but if I have to have a tent I guess I'll have to have a tent because I'm wondering if there's good hammock setups all the way through the trail that way I don't have to go further off into the woods to look for good setup although I wouldn't mind it at least I'd be alone like I usually am you have a blessed day and happy trails and thank you for letting me know

If you haven't already, start watching Shug (Emery's) many KZbin episodes on hammock camping. Hammocks may not save anything on weight, but it's nice to be dry and off the ground. It takes time and practice to learn how to pitch it and sleep comfortably on the diagonal. When watching the videos, I'm always thinking if I'd be able to hang a hammock. I can't remember which mountain you were stealth camping on recently (with the grouses) - I didn't see many good trees there ☹️.

Yeah. The mountain summits may not work for a hammock, but almost everywhere else will
