Thank You Chuck for documenting the beauty of the Appalachian Trail. My father (93 years young) and I look forward to watching your videos each evening. We both have hiked sections of the trail but not the whole 2100+ miles. We met a blind man hiking the trail on Stratton Mountain Vermont in 1990. He and you are an inspiration. I often try to document native trees to the Appalachians on my channel. The beautiful white-flowering trees you are seeing in late March are called Serviceberry. I recorded these trees for my channel last year before, during and after their flowers came out. I think they are the most beautiful trees in the Mountains. Best Luck as your adventure continues this year!

Your right god is amazing and to think he created everything we see in just 6 days. What an awsome god we serve such beautiful views. Looks like you will be at over mountain shelter and roan mountain in a few days that my favorite stop on the at to camp.

Yeah. We camped at the top of the hill at the turn to the over mountain shelter. There’s nothing left but a grass field where the shelter used to be.

A bear! I hiked 1000+ miles and the only bear I saw was digging in the open garbage cans at the hotel in gatlinburg 🙄😆 I was just about to type that the mist has its own beauty, when you said you were starting to appreciate it. I think even sunny blue skies get boring if they are never given a rest by a stormy day!

There were 4 of us hiking together at that time. 2 only hike 11 miles that day and waited for us at Uncle Johnnie’s. Bluegrass and I did the 24. We talked about it a couple of days earlier and made the plan to do it.

First of all... happy easter here from Germany... today we have easter monday... a free day for me and my family, with some good hikes in the woods near my home town. Wow.... 24 miles and what a great Video of the AP. Wonderful views... and the bear. Fantastic!!! 1996 was my second road trip in the USA. In the Grand Teton National Park I saw my first grizzly in the wild... I will never forget that moment . Thanks Bandit.... All the best... and go north!!!! I'm with you every day. @@ChuckHowell-Outdoors I’m interested to see what it looked like on the trail if anyone hiked in it. I was in Erwin last week and met hikers as they got off trail for snow at Steel Rails coffee shop. It was breathtaking to see the top of that mountain range full of active snowfall! Best wishes with your ankle!
