I think waterfalls are in my top five attractions for hiking destinations, the little springs that cross the trail are up there too. Don’t know why but I think splashing through those makes my wife feel like a kid again, and our first real day hike was Ramseys Cascade in TN. Thanks for sharing great to see you on trail and doing great! Those are some beautiful falls!

Beautiful first day back on the trail. My husband and I did that section a few years ago. That bench has an amazing view. Looks like a great tent site. Enjoy!

I broke my leg near Erwin in 2015. I couldn’t even walk on it so I admire you for those 300 miles. I had that same brace I wore for a long time after my hard cast. But now don’t need it. Take care of it. Signage 07.

Thanks Donna. I don’t think the brace was made for walking long distances. It actually hurt more than I think it was helping, so I had to quit wearing it.

Hope so. We were hoping to be in Damascus by Thursday, but the weather has turned nasty and the trail is slippery. We’ll likely be there Friday and Saturday. Not sure which hostel yet.

Nice sunny hiking day. The falls were pretty. Looks like your foot is doing well. Nice job of wrapping it. 17 miles is a good deal of hiking. Nice campsite at the end of your day. Did you get to watch the eclipse? I live in Wisconsin and we got about 85% eclipse, but it was still fascinating.
