Don't feel so, we Keralites also eagerly wait releases of Tamil movies... These are exceptional movies, not regular.. Here the hightlight is along with the movie and friendship, the reference to Guna, Kamal Sir, Ilaya Raja sir music for the Kanmani song. That melody is still hit among new and previous gen... That shows how Tamil movies have fans in Kerala.

But the point here is today for the past few years we are not giving importance to progressive kind of movies, strong content based movies, most of them are commerical based. Today progressive movies in Tamil is very less, Mammukka movies enough to overcome the movies release in hole Tamil content based movies. Actually the truth here is all audience very eagerly waiting for content oriented movies, that's the replication of Tamil people showed love towards the Manjummel Boys. As you mentioned most of the base idea of the movie is form Tamil old movie, and from Tamil great legend, but the movie is produced and released by other industry and not here, and everyone here showed their love towards the movie. And also i am mentioning this, some tamil old good movies getting released and that movies also getting great response than the new movies releasing today. And that's my point, hope you catch it.
