So much to say. First of all, you two are so adorable. I grew up in the Northeast, with a heart for the South, ended up in the homeland, Ireland. I have been here 20 years. The land is similar to Ireland, no wonder they settled Appalachia. My friends Mom used to say "Oh Sugarfoot!" I have heard all of these sayings, growing up near Boston. Tipper from Celebrating Appalachia does many slang words. One thing I can tell you is NOONE here says "Top O the morning to ya"...lol. Praying for Wears Valley. Loved this!💚

Thanks so much for the slang words. Loved them. Have heard most of them all my life. I have a couple more for you. My dad used to say " I don't want to wag that around all day." That meant he didn't want to carry it for long. And my mom used the word "sygoggly" all the time. Not sure how it is actually spelled. But pronounced like it looks. Anyway, it means that something is crooked or not level. I still use this word myself and I've heard my niece use it too. And the other day, I caught myself using Dad's phrase, too. It's so funny sometimes. Anyway, keep up the great videos. We really enjoy them. From Melinda, Mrs. Terry Hager.

Hubby and I drove the whole Blue Ridge Parkway in 2016. We live in Cincinnati suburbs, started close to Washington DC, at Shenandoah National Park and went all the way down thru Cherokee NC. Took us 3 days to get down, stopped at places to enjoy and get our bearings, very winding roads🥴🤢 We came back thru Tennessee way, took one day to return. We are so glad we did it, beautiful scenery..I have to admit, I still say.. dadgumit!another thing I say is, “for crying out load” when I get aggravated at something or someone. One thing we were NEVER allowed to say, cause my mom was raised with this rule, you could never say shut up to someone, you could say hush, or hush up or be quiet, but never ever shut up, that was as bad as saying the worst swear word imaginable….an old boss of mine was from the south and she used to call her purse a pocketbook, and grocery carts were called buggy’s..thanks for the ride thru memory lane, have a great evening😀
