Joe might be 80, bent over and using a bush crafted walking stick, but his mind is sharp as a tack and his eyes and ears are perfect so he just may be onto something with his herbal remedies. Like he mentioned, the Chinese are into herbal remedies and let's face it, they've been doing it for over 4,000 years. Who knows, without his plants, surroundings, stress-free lifestyle and commitment to life-long learning he may have been in a nursing home sitting in a wheelchair by 80. I 'd hate to think what would happen to this place if 8 people moved into it. It's one thing building it all up from scratch using hard work, it's quite another just being gifted it with everything already built for you. People don't value what they haven't worked for. It's likely to attract some very unconscientious people with a completely different outlook to this guy.
@N.E.TGaming Жыл бұрын
@@sammyb1651That's the wrong line of thinking imo. He said it himself, he wants people to join him and expand on the groundwork he has built. It won't be an "easy" transition from typical modern living, and will definitely need to build more houses and clear brush/trees to make room for such. It's expansion, more hands make light work.
@sammyb1651 Жыл бұрын
@@N.E.TGaming Yeah, it's a great idea in theory. The practice is another matter altogether however. I'm not saying I don't hope he succeeds. I hope it does. I just think the amount of vetting required would probably exceed the work he's already put into the physical build. Without that, you're just relying on blind luck.

We were very energised by the land. I aquired a section of land. ( 640 acres) and everyone got a 20 acre or 40 acre plot. It was simular to this camp. Just larger with prople gathered for their skills we determined we would need. I've enjoyed this video. My body is old and failing. He doesn't even realize that he IS the epitome of what we are trying to get back to as a community. If you somehow ever see this, you are truly inspiring in this ever-expanding digital world Joe. Hats off to you sir Edit: I want to say i recognize the modern medical industry is quite illustrious, hence if anyone who used that argument watched the video instead of looking for a reason to argue, you would have heard him say to Peter he would drive into town and use those services when needed. The point i was making is Joe represents what I think all "hard working Americans" are trying to get closer to instead of farther away from. Yes the man may have a website and take advantage of the modern amenities where it pays dividends to do so, but i dont personally believe that takes away for what this man represents and what hes trying to garner in his community, along with others. I could be wrong, but i personally think a much healthier, forward moving thinking way to go in the future are people trying to get back to this and worrying about how we tackle not having "modern amenities" as accessible as it is today vs people looking for ways to not like there fellow neighbor and make there team win in there world-view. Appreciate everyone who understood what i was going for as i was not intending to incite a debate. Feel free to disagree but personal attacks only discredit your credibility . Food for thought

Throughout my adult life - I’m 61 now - I’ve had brief connections with folks who live like Joe. I grew up in Alaska and had the privilege as a child of living in the Bush. It was a magical childhood. The beauty of that way of life always stuck with me, though the closest I’ve come since is to live rurally a few times in the past 40 years. I became a master gardener and for a time a landscaper. Now, out of necessity, I’m in a stressful desk job that is soul-crushing. When you look at all the religions you begin to see the human attempt to describe and grasp the ethers of life. Joe was a green man, part human and part plant...he fit perfectly amid the natural shade forest of Appalachia.

Someone had posted he past away - you can tell in this video he didn't have long to go - he was micronutrient defficenst - I'm also 68 but healthy - I have know very many over the yrs that only lived to 50 or 60 - just the other day a gal I knew passed at 68 she was in his condition - if we're getting the nutrients we need we can live healthy 120 yrs - Even a dog and cats full life span is 35 yrs - that has been learned from the 120 blue zone tribes across the world were many live 120 yrs or longer with good health and there dogs and cats live 35 yrs or longer -

@@able880 You really lack an understanding of genetics. Telomeres and longevity genes decide lifespan. If you don't have good ones, nothing you do matters. We are all born with a finite timetable, and they are not at all equal. For example, a great dane will never make it to 35 due to bad genes. Same for most humans.

Our elders are so important to learn from. If you ever find yourself amongst them I implore you to listen to their stories and experiences. I'm proud to have been in Healthcare for almost a decade now, because people like our elderly friend in the video will change your life in how you view the world. This man reminded me of a certain someone that I took care of for years who recently passed. I will miss you Al.

Maybe listen to some old people, because when you get old you start to hate people and things and those type of old people you learn nothing from them…

Me on phone, pencil in hand, making a call: "Gram, can you tell me your chocolate cake recipe?" Suspense, excited to hear her old family secret. Gram: "Well, you get 2 boxes of Duncan Himes" Me: Pencil drops "Nevermind Gram, I love you" 😢

The Smart young folks should be hanging out with the older Grandparents telling us about their truth knowledge and experience. Don’t let the Criminals Corruption Organization system by design control your mind, your freedom and your life like COVID19 PLANDEMIC

Bright man with different thinking than many who are not content with a simple, peaceful, and healthy life. I see what he means about people think more about what they will lose versus what they will get if they decide to embark on a project like this. I am happy he discovered this path early in his life. I always loved doing things like this but got trapped in a hectic and a 9 to 5 job that I built my life around. I salute this man and have really enjoyed this video. I wish him success in his project.

What an extremely intelligent and articulate man. Doesn't falter once when speaking, and his memory is impecible. You do not find this anymore in the elderly.

This guy needs another 80 years so he can continue with his plans. He is very knowledgeable. I love listening to him talk. His voice is calming to me, and at the same time, I'm taking in everything he spoke about. He has it going on. 👍👍

I can hear the young man in this old man. His spirit is as vital and virile as it ever was and I hear it in his voice. A sage as well, living in the mountains of North Carolina. It is uplifting to know that people like this are on the Earth.

I’m from a tribe in Borneo and I’m glad this old guy had the opportunity to experience our culture first hand and that it had a profound impact on the rest of his life. I noticed a couple of Borneo artifacts in his house - 21:30 a beadwork wall hanging by the door and a Borneo shield on the wall by the stairs just above his head (26:19). Much respect to what he’s doing. We, in Sarawak, Borneo, owe a lot of gratitude to all the Peace Corps workers who came in the 1960’s and 70’s to teach at our schools or work on agriculture.
