Thanks Goob. Really enjoyed your series, one of the best AT treks I’ve watched. Best wishes on the AZT this spring 2024. Peace and happy trails

Thanks for the gear debrief. FWIW - I have a mesh bag that’s about the size of a two quart zip lock bag. I put my wet chamois in it after mopping up condensation. I attach the bag to the outside of my pack with a carabiner and it dries out quickly as I hike. Works for other wet items, too (socks, mittens, etc).

So helpful! Thanks, Goob!!! We’re planning to leave in February. I bought the same glove liners you have. Maybe if I wear gloves over them they won’t wear down too quickly. I really appreciate your reviews! So proud of what you have accomplished!

Great following your hike. For everyday hiking with trekking poles I use the NRS boater gloves. Saves my hands both from abrasion and sun. They only weigh 35 grams.

started my thru hike attempt with the Pleximid, after a few weeks had to replace carbon rods. after the replacement rods failed they allowed me to upgrade to the duplex. so happy with the upgrade and all the extra space. highly recommend the duplex

Nice video. The rain pants help on open areas in a wind. If you do the PCT or CDT the rain pants and gloves are a good idea(think glissading too). You've done very well. Now, its time to prepare for a difficult winter. Good Luck, Rick

A lot of useful tips thanks Goob! I’ve been trying to pick out some decent hiking pants that do exactly what you described the Columbia pants do. Also I’d like to know if you’d considered camping with a hammock shelter rather than a tent. Maybe there is some pros and cons to each, but let’s hear your opinion on the matter!

Thanks for your comments on the pleximid. I currently own that tent but am considering the duplex if I really do the AT. I also just bought the REI rain mitts that you mentioned glad to know they were good.

Between the plexamid and the duplex you might have better luck with the duplex. I saw lots of duplexes on trail and no one seemed to have any issue with it.

Awesome video. I just subscribed to your channel and give you like. For how many days straight did you carry food for? Awesome assortment of backpacking gear. Have you ever considered carry a tiny umbrella? Some hikers highly recommended. I’m talking about true hikers. You said you didn’t cook much. What food did you eat in daily basis? I would like to come up with an idea to try to imitate your style of Back Packing. If you carry a small bottle with a dropper of hydrogen peroxide 35% for the grade, you can apply a drop or two in your filters water bag to eliminate the algae and fungus. I meant to say 35% food grade. Drinking your own urine will eliminate The diarrhea. Awesome experience. Thank you so much for the information about the videos in your camera and the application to do the editing. Thank you so much for sharing this video. God bless you.

What was your bag liner and also can’t seem to find small knife with the tweezers, which one do you have?
@goobsadventures

The backpack liner bag I used was a Nylofume bag from Litesmith and both of the sleeping bag liners I used were from Sea-to-Summit (not certain what style exactly). For the small knife, look for a mini Swiss Army knife.

Hi Goob, Can you tell me which external hard drive you used please? Were you able to save LumaFusion videos from your phone straight to the drive? The reason I ask is that I intend to only use my phone next year. Thanks
