The instructions on my Kelty tent said to use the tent bag as a bear bag to hang your food. I've been using the tent bag for years and it works great for hanging food.

I was doing some trail magic on the trail North of beauty spot last weekend and met shadow...I enjoyed my conversation with him...As I was hiking back toward Indian grave gap I met Scorpion Queen...She is from Scotland and super nice to met her...She made it into Demascus Saturday so she is moving...20 to 25 per day..

I gave some trail magic on Easter Sunday to thru hikers at the beauty spot trail head off rock creek. It was such a neat experience getting to meet so many cool hikers. Might go up to carvers gap this next weekend to provide more trail magic. Long neck lair is locayed near the atkins,vs exit off interstate 81 and it is located several miles east of Marion near that one landing strip airport.

Pretty sure you can boil your water or use chlorine or iodine as a backup. Try running away from Daisy while clapping your hands when she has the ball. She will likely chase you. Treats for a reward go a long way to convince them to repeat a behavior. You are off to a good start with her.

Great video ramdino and I share your sentiments about the rear ends. Thanks for all you do. Hopefully, next April (2025) my daughter and I will complete our first section hike from Springer to Neels Gap. We were suppose to do this on her 13th birthday (2022) but due to a death in the family it prevented us from getting on trail. Until then we plan to hike some in the smokies this September and then another weekend on the foothills trail in the fall.

I got Giardia in the 80’s when it was just barely known and in that era would put my canteen into running water as I did all of my life. Maybe times have changed, but that made me soooo sick, I wasn’t ok for 4 months. Can’t imagine getting it on trail. If I had a choice between a bit of dehydration and Giardia, I’d take dehydration any day, because Giardia will just make you dangerously dehydrated soon enough.

Thank you for all you do to support community, Yes, Purifiers will remove viruses in addition to bacteria, parasites, microplastics, filters remove the parasites, contaminants but "not" viruses. If you even think your water filter may have been compromised boil "all" water. (Fuel is cheaper than a trip to a med center) You can still prefilter using filter or a bandana but you should "boil." HaHa, my mama said the same thing🤐 Prayers that she is found soon. God Bless You! Happy Easter!
