Smart to zero and do your shout outs to fellow hikers and the hiker support team there at the foot of katahdin as well as ones leading up to your destination. So many from day one. I think you both do give back with your positivity and gratitude and taking a personal interest with others. Stops really does a lot for the trail community. The trail maintenance teams really do a lot too. I can’t imagine what a mess the trails would be after a long winter without them. This year the PCT trail maintenance has finally been able to sort of catch up since it was all shut down in 2020 due to Covid and the subsequent big fires that followed tho not related to Covid. Thanks for your HKT posts

A give back event would be cool - plan it early, so people can commit - do some trail angel cooking for the hikers, maybe a trail maintenance project, a place that has hostels and/or group campgrounds - that is, if you aren’t already out on another major thru hike
