INGREDIENTS:
Raw rice - 1 & 1/2 cup
Grated Coconut - 3/4 cup
Cooked Rice - 8 tbsp
Instant Yeast - 3/4 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt per taste
Water
Oil
METHOD:
1. Soak well washed raw rice for four to five hours in clean water.
2. Drain the water after five hours.
3.Put the rice in miixe jar.
4.Add grated coconut, cooked rice and enough water.
5.Blend well.
6.Let it sit for overnight.
7.In the next morning add active dry yeast in appam batter.
8.To make yeast, put sugar and dry yeast along with some water in bowl and leave it for 10 minutes.
9.Mix the activated yeast in fermented appam batter.Mix well.
10.Let it sit for one hour .
11.After one hour, add salt per taste and mix well.Batter is ready.
12.Apply some oil in hot pan.
12.Pour two spoon of batter in hot pan .Spread slightly with spoon.
13.Once bubbles started to appear, cover with lid.
14.Let it cook on medium low flame.
15.Once it is ready,transfer to the serving plate.
16.Enjoy with veg kuruma,coconut milk,egg kuruma or any non veg curry.
