The lap belt should be in front of the holster so that it will properly support your pelvis in a crash and keep you in the seat. It's more likely to ride too high if tucked behind the holster. A lap belt that is too high may cause you to slide underneath the belt, or at the very least dig into your soft abdomen.

Yeah that belt position is so wrong man. The belt needs to be across your hips. You’re gonna put immense force on your abdominal organs and you’re vulnerable to submarine/subduction. You’re gonna get a hell of a contusion yes, but better that than the others. Agree 3 O’Clock draw sucks in a car but not sure about uncomfortable. Appendix I find worse cause the bottom of the holster digs into my leg…still searching for true comfort on that front. Not a huge fan of how 3 O’Clock conceals.

I actually made my own kydex holster for my truck. I mainly use it when camping, but occasionally I will use it for drives. This holster bolts to a reinforced plate in the front section of the center console near the dash (about knee range). I was in a pretty decent accident a couple years ago and happened to have it in the holster. With a nice tight fitting kydex holster BOLTED to a solid surface. It's not the worst idea. A bigger issue with gun holsters for daily use is the tendency to leave the gun in them when you get out. Don't do that

Check your state laws before doing this. That's open carry in FL.

Good information, Sir! I prefer cross-body carry or keeping it at my 4 O'clock but staging my jacket and seat belt as carefully as you showed for your appendix carry. Appendix doesn't work for me, due to my extra girth, but with regular practice I have found good results with my carry options. I also feel cross-body and 4 O'clock are less obvious to anyone outside the vehicle, but I have yet to truly test out that hypothesis with training partners. Thanks for mentioning the risks of too much administrative handling of your weapon, too. You're asking for trouble there. I always reposition the holstered weapon as a single unit so as to avoid any problems when switching from 4 O'clock to cross-body for vehicle carry.

how do you handle sitting in day to day tasks? i'm a larger fella and i find appendix is comfortable and easily concealable until i sit like as a restaurant or any other time im sitting in day to day tasks. i like 3 o'clock but i find i print in t shirts too often

How do you recommend handling getting pulled over? I wouldn’t want a cop to see me messing with something (covering up your gun) while being stopped. I also wouldn’t want them to see my gun sticking out when they walk up to the window (for obvious reasons), I’m also unsure as to if that could be considered brandishing if you don’t live in an open carry state.

I’d be interested in knowing that as well. And if someone is looking into your vehicle I certainly would not consider this concealed.
