No button but you can go into settings>general>accessibility>zoom them set it to on and if you double tap the screen with 3 fingers it zooms read the options to find out how to zoom in/out and move the place you are zooming in on

Bought my wife an iPhone 6 and decided to keep my smallish iPhone 5s and its OtterBox Defender case, after reading the difference (not much from the 6 except the processor and screen, not much else) . It's called a proximity sensor. It only shows up on cameras. When you are calling someone and you hand or face gets too close to the sensor the screen will turn off you you don't press any buttons

I'm going into the iPhone 5S from an iPod Touch 5th generation. I'm familiar with iOS 8, just not sure what the phone functionality is in iOS 8. I've never owned an iPhone before. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (AT&T, locked.) Stopped using it for its smart functionality. Just use it as a phone and a mobile WiFi hotspot. Android is very slow, unreliable and has many features that you will never use once.

It's the infrared light. Any camera can detect it. It's so the phone can detect when your head is next to the phone during a call, or however else you want to use it.
