I agree. Too long have we accepted what "historians" consider to be the truth. Why don't we ask the founding fathers themselves what they thought of religion... "Christianity neither is, nor ever was, a part of the Common Law." - Thomas Jefferson "Lighthouses are more helpful than churches." - Benjamin Franklin "This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it." - John Adams I'm sure they were just joshin'.

"We want government out of religion." Doesn't that mean separation of church and state? Establishment Clause. The establishment clause has generally been interpreted to prohibit 1) the establishment of a national religion by Congress, or 2) the preference by the U.S. government of one religion over another.

If you tell us not to believe historians, why should I believe you?

Actually it says "freedom of religion" in the consitution which is basically saying that they are separated. Just stating that fact. Love this comedian though, funny as freaking hell.

. All around the world there are families that had never been introduced to Jesus, but when they finally were they gained Faith because Jesus is so amazing!!! A newborn child has instant faith in his/her mother to care for him/her.. and that was never taught to the baby. So if a baby naturally trusts, then obviously we were created all along to have Faith in something that is greater and better than ourselves.

@vettehead69 Every thing we do is based off of choice you are giving choice regardless as to who you are or what you do, the thought of taking away choice from common human thinking is insane.

I love watching Brad Stein, and I think he's hilarious, but Jefferson was a Deist. He thought Christianity should be promoted because a Christian nation was a moral nation with little crime, but he himself did not believe it was true.

@vettehead69 it is impossible to b forced to believe in a faith. if u actually think upon it urself instead of jus following wat people tell u to do randomly then u wont b "forced" to belive in anything. and when people try to force u to believe in something, they are going about it entirely wrong. thats not how u should go about teaching people about God. Its a relationship thing. U have to decide to believe it by urself.

@1isaM111er Republic is a for of democracy. Its known as an indirect democracy. You are confusing the term democracy with the more specific idea of direct democracy. So he is actually right.

Faith is drilled into us from day one. You are told that there is only one god and one way of living. We have no choice until maybe adult hood to decide what we want to believe in. I like this guy as a comedian, but in his clip he contradicts himself. Almost all religion is like that, and faith that comes from religion. Its not something we are born to do. It is something that we are taught to do and in some extreme cases forced to do.
