@earthalien77 I had a feeling my words would be misconstrued. It actually does break my heart to see animal cruelty. I'm not into dogfighting, not into animals starved by their owners, or anything of the sort. My point is is that I don't take it to the level of PETA and do all but worship and exalt animals over humans. My view is, if I had to choose between ending the life of a human or an animal, I'll save the human's life first. Not anti-animal, but pro-human. That's the "freak" I am.

I'm a girl who's not afraid of spiders. I try to rescue them and put them outside. I'm not so crazy as to be unperturbed by them if they were crawling on me or my food but in that case I'd just brush 'em off. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" Ergo, since flies are my enemy spiders are my friends which means I try to rescue them. Now bees/wasps/yellowjackets I get nervous about because they can sting me but I've had to rescue my mother from them so I'm not the type to run screaming from them.

I remember one time, I was sitting on the back porch. Well, in a chair which was on the back porch. A yellow jacket decided my nose was the most fascinating thing it had ever seen. It didn't land; it just hovered near the tip for almost a minute. I just stared back at it. Then it just flew away. Weird. Anothet time, I was there again, drinking a Coke. Bee came by & decided it wanted some Coke too. Turns out bees are caffeine freaks. I had to rescue it when it dive bombed my drink. It lived. And, me being me, I finished up the Coke because it was the last one in the house.

Yeah, that'll do it. I've taken to duct taping windowpane cracks because my bedroom window is old and when the air conditioner is in it in the summer, the moths can get right through the cracks. Eek, I hate them!!

LOL! My weapon of choice is spray furniture polish...coats 'em real good so they can't move, then I whack 'em about 20 times with my husband's shoe. Only time it backfired was when I sprayed a spider that was sitting on house phone. Phone was so slippery afterward that we kept dropping the handset every tine we picked it up...finally broke it. :-(

I'm a girl, a young teenager, and when I see a spider in the house, I just stop and stare at it, trying to look at where the eyes are and stuff XD. I think spiders are interesting. I like looking at them, but I don't want them on me. Sometimes I think they're rather cute when the spiders look at me. But when they're getting ready to jump on me, I just fling them off; reflexes, y'know. "Let me look at you, don't jump, stay still, and leave me alone. Got it, spider?"

When I see a spider, i don't scream, I sound my silent battle cry. Then i just stare at it a little, waiting for it to move, go back to my business and then check if it had moved at all. If its within range of the curtain pole i have leaning against the wall near my bed, i slowly move toward it (Assassin's Creed style) and use the flat end to crush it. If not, i wait for it to go in range.

I'm 18 and my initial reaction is "DADDY KILL IT!!!!!" And if he's not there, I grab the nearest Windex bottle and squirt it till the spider screams >:D Then when it appears intoxicated by the Windex fumes, I find something to squish it with. None of this is ever done without tears of fear rolling down my face the whole time and loud screams whenever the spider moves...

It's a good thing I'm not afraid of bugs, bug sprays seem to trigger my migraines. My grandmother will completely spray down her place with the stuff - just in case. I usually can't stay more than a few days.

Moths scare me in the middle of the night when they come down and fly on my face! I used to have trouble with moths making a sound in my paper lamp shade as well. Leaving the window open with the light on is the problem IMO

Although I feel sorry for you I can't help but think of how impressive that is. The bug was flushed first and crawled out? Think about it. That's the equivalency of someone being sucked underwater by a whirlpool, fighting their way out of the current, and then swimming to shore, just to stab me. What foul language? The only comment I've seen that follows that pattern is one saying that his comedy would be improved if he focused more on the religious side. How do you know if they're of the "sheep" variety of the "goat" kind? 1 Sam. 16:7b "For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” You seem to be trying to judge whether people believe in God, something you can't do. What does that say of you? Even if someone is mean that doesn't mean they aren't a christian. 1 Cor. 10:23 "23 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify." They can curse, and swear, and that doesn't separate them from God. It may not be good, but that doesn't change their salvation.

Hey, wait a second. Am I unique to females? Bugs, snakes, critters that crawl, simply do *not* bother me, and in fact, I simply leave the spiders to catching insects and the like. RAID makes me ill, so I don't use it, but when flies are around, I won't hesitate to spray a botanically-based bug spray and use a No Pest Strop :o) Drown 'em with Raid? How about let 'em *work* at catching the flies that are so gross anyway? hehehe..... Besides, it was my *husband* who was deathly afraid of spiders..

@featherbirdlady I never use Raid. I do catch & release...more humane. Why be cruel to insects? Just put a cup or a coffee can over the bug/bee/moth...then slide a flat piece of cardboard underneath. Bring the container ouside and set them free! There is no need to hurt any lving creature. Some insects are quite beautiful...God made them with intricate designs and pretty colors and complex wings,etc. If you don't really have to kill them, why do it? I've even rescued a bat!

The only fear I have of bats is rabies is quite common in them.
