You need to stop believing movies. 40K will get pretty much anyone taken out. Barring of course heads of states, billionaires and other sorts that people are really going to start hunting for their murderer if someone dropped them. A couple thou will get you a thug willing to get his hands dirty for most people though. Biggest thing is most people don't have the connections and get turned over for a sting. The kind of people that ask randoms for hitmen are not the kind of people to clam up if caught. Thus pros won't deal with them.

Most threats made in the heat of the moment like that aren't followed up on. The bigger problem for her is, if something were to happen to them, she'd be the #1 suspect. Having made a threat, any circumstantial evidence against her will look a lot more credible to the police and / or a jury. That's the biggest reason why threatening revenge is such a stupid thing to do, even if you never actually plan on following through. Well, that and you're letting the person know you're coming. Revenge is a dish best served cold, and when the recipient least expects it.

@nightdrivenen79092 жыл бұрын
That would depend if it was her first ever offense. Which by how Heather has acted, she probably did something minor before hand that got waved away - but ultimately went against her. That - and the fact she had Conspiracy to attempt Murder probably made this a more closer to home statement as she said she should have hired a Hitman instead. Meaning she was contemplating it. This would easily give even a first offender years in prison alone. Depending on how much the high rise apartment was also worth - Grand Theft could have taken into place with everything that was inside it as well as the Fraud that occurred; this wasn't a simple action of domestic abuse or hit and run or Female to Male R&%$. Her demeanor in the court room also would have effected the judgement. Most women tend to compose themselves which is why they get off easy - and according to the story teller Heather here might have been fighting every step of the way to everyone's annoyance since it damaged her pride so badly. Overall - there is more than enough to get even a woman a prison sentence + community service
