Sadly, Apple CarPlay is not available in the 2019 model. I got mine this week and my heart is broken that it's no longer available. If you are in Canada, the 2018 model is still available so if it's a deal breaker, consider getting that instead.

Hena Syed I find that really strange. When you build and price them on the mbusa website, there is an option for it.

Martin Ladjimi Maybe it’s available in the US, but it isn’t in Canada. The MB dealer told me they had trouble with Apple CarPlay in the GLC which is why they took it out in the 2019 model.

When CarPlay is running and I select the Voice Command it doesn't default to Siri, instead to the in-car multimedia system. I see many videos where Siri is active. How can I fix this??? 2019 AMG C 63 S Cabriolet

Hi Jeff - wow awesome car, congratulations! I remember the first time I drove a C63S, I noticed the red stripe on top of the steering wheel, and when I accelerated around a corner for the first time I realized that it was functional so you can tell which side of the steering wheel is up! Anyways, I have been out of the car world for a couple years now, the only suggestion I have is to hold down the voice command button instead of giving it a quick push. Only if its already installed in the car. So basically the only way to know for sure is to plug an iPhone into it and see if Carplay pops up.

It was very hit or miss - if you plug in an iPhone and it doesn't do anything, you most likely don't have it.

It's been a few years but it was not standard, and if I remember correctly if you got CarPlay you couldn't get Nav. Nav was basically the same screen with Nav enabled. Thanks for watching.

I just bought a used 2018 300 from the dealer. You have to purchase a SD card the dealer keeps saying is “pricey” to use for navigation. They directed me to use apple car play instead. I resisted because I wanted the navigation. Finally I have in and started using the apple car and it works very well and I can use WAZE, my preferred maps. Eventually I may get the SD card just to have it, but it’s really not needed at all and car play works and looks just as well.

@@Tajaunmiles2131 should be. I would think so. There’s two slots in the 300 glc. One is just for charging the other is for apple car play. Try both.

No, it didn't become available until 2018 with the Smartphone Integration package.

Hi Manu thanks for asking! In the US Apple Carplay is becoming standard in later 2018 models but was an option in older models called "Smartphone integration package". It only cost US$350 and could not be combined with the navigation and larger display option. Moving forward it will be compatible with Navigation and standard as well. Not sure about other parts of the world though. Thanks for the question?

It is not available in the 2019 model (I have one). I was told by the dealer that MB has been having problems with Apple CarPlay in the GLC.

I have a GLC 250 2018 but somehow I don’t see any option to connect to CarPlay and when plugged in into USB, it doesn’t give me the option to connect. Why?

I’m so bummed but I just got a 2018 GLC 300 and it doesn’t have CarPlay. I even called and they said it should but neither of my ports have the media symbol and it doesn’t connect like this. Is there something I’m missing or am I really the only 2018 Benz without CarPlay?

You actually might not need the smartphone integration kit(the usb #2 with the phone/tablet logo). What you need to do is take your car into the dealer and tell them to enable CarPlay.

S Do you have the USB port with the media icon? I don’t have that. So all you are doing is updating the software and now you’ll have CarPlay? Would you mind telling me what dealership you are going to? Maybe I can have my Mercedes dealership call them

@@DreamingDittle No, I didn't have the USB tablet icon, so the dealer told me to buy part number A2468203800 which is just the USB ports you take out and replace as this part has the usb #2 with the tablet/phone image. Apparently, you don't even need this part, as somebody posted on my thread in a forum that he told the dealer to just update the software and to enable CarPlay, and if it doesn't work, that he'd buy the part. I'm from Vancouver, and I had to call every dealer in the area as most of them were like "yeah, we can't do it". So I would call every dealer you're willing to drive to. You might want to search on MBworld forums for the same year and model of your vehicle, and find other people with CarPlay.

K Dinh make sure you are plugged into the correct USB port. One of them will only charge, but the one on the right will support Carplay. I can also confirm that you have the feature if you give me the last 6 of your VIN.

Jesse Dishner Helio I purchased it in Mexico it has all the buttons on the dashboard but specifically the sd card slot is not included

It may have different specifications because of your region, or the option for the SD card and even the Smartphone Integration may not be available. Depending on when it was made even in the US some of the 2018s didn't have Apple Carplay and Navigation, although some do. I suggest that you go to the mercedes website for your region and build your car there, and see if it shows Apple Carplay as an option.
