Can CD3217 and ROM from iPad Pro 2018 motherboard replace on the iPad Pro 4 generation 2022 ? Or it has be from the same generation?

I had exactly the same case, but unfortunately with no success. After replacing CD3217 (with matching dot) it became 5V 0A, as in your second attempt. There was probably a problem with the ROM too. I can't believe that the ROM is specially prepared only for this particular CD3217 and it won't work with any other, it's crazy. If you had some time, could you try to read the image from the working ROM and try to flash it to the one that doesn't work? Maybe there would be an answer to the question that the image itself is damaged, not the entire ROM is assigned to a specific chip, hopefully...

I did not want to experiment with this particular device too much since it was a customer’s unit. Most-likely CD3217s in iPads are programmed. I do have a working 11 iPad Pro 3rd gen (same year basically), I might experiment on that one with different roms and cd3217s

My Ipad pro 5th gen 12.9 inch is drawing 12v [less than 1A] without battery and with battery draws only 5v.

My iPad 5th gen when plugged into a battery pack shows a current but when plugged into my computer nothing, screen doesn’t respond nor does reset or power button.

Does CD3217 have to be extracted from the donor board of the same model ipad? I heard that CD3217 extracted from other models may not work. And if ROM is damaged, is it impossible to fix it? Or does it work if ROM chip is implanted from the same model iPad?

Used one from 5th gen 12.9 on 2nd gen 11 the other day without an issue. Did not have to transfer rom chip.
