Depending on what application you work on. If your applications can take advantage of the RTX 4060 then go for the Asus. Apple M4 Max / Pro just dominate the lower thread count application such as Adobe Photoshop & illustrator. It runs so much faster than any other laptop I've ever used including the HX 370 and Intel Core ultra 285K. I love the form factor of the PX13, it's quite a bit smaller than the macbook and can be folded if thats what you want.

@ I’m video editor but also wouldn’t mind gaming side of it but ASUS pro art is another £300 more than MacBook m4 pro with discount I have available to me.

@@MrAzyyh go for Asus Px13 if you play games. RTX 4060 run circles around the M4 Max GPU when it comes to gaming.

I’m an accounting major and went with the base M4. Was perfect for me lol. I bought it at Best Buy and paid $1320. It’s $200 off on Best Buy and also used the education discount.

oh i didnt know u can stack. i got the base version, too, but from amazon but i went up to 1tb. i usually get the best and it took everything in my power not to upgrade to the pro chip, but all i do is watch youtube videos lol.

10:34 There is definitely something wrong here. Either with your machine or the editing software. There are so many laptops on that list that doesn’t come close to the exporting performance of your MacBook spec.

You can easily make a MacBook perform worse by using a codec that isn’t supported by its encoders or by relying on software that is better suited for Windows. If you are using a Mac, you will naturally choose codecs that work best with it and use software like Final Cut Pro, which is optimized for macOS. Therefore, I think it’s best to disregard this comparison, as Mac users understand the optimal choices for their system, just as Windows users have their preferred options.

More RAM is always better. When I edit 4K footage I get at least 24/28 GB of RAM consumption.

@ben Can you make a video stress testing the macbooks? example connected to two monitors one monitor using osx second monitor using parallels and windows 11. Running software on both sides and multitasking. I want to stay with mac but the trading software i use is windows only. + Recording the screen at the same time

If GPU and CPU manufacturers don't resolve the thermals, laptop manufacturers will be run out of business by Apple. I'm not buying a very expensive heavy toaster oven.

you can find a older apple silicon series for under 2k, just make sure its 32gb ram+, and regarding the G14, (if ur oab ASUS ROG Zephyrus) it is quite literally perfect lmao, ben recommended it as well for video editing on his best video editing laptops video, tho he did put it at mid-range, honestly i'd consider it a high range laptop, specially if you upgrade the ram to 64gb, go for it bro

Apple upselling as usually. Add 32 GB of RAM to baselina M4 and hello baseline M4 Pro 24 GB of RAM. So, waiting for 15" MBA with M4......and see how nerfed it's going to be :D and of course, M4 Pro can't be ordered with 32 GB - either 24 or 48. FU.

It's the same model they've had since the M1 model. Not the M2. The only M1 that wasn't the new model is the 13 inch. 14 and 16 were the new body style. Literally nobody cares about the adobe rgb. Professionals are using special external displays anyways. Testing "playback" in a video editing software suite is a useless test. You might as well just test youtube at that rate. Constantly rendering in a video editing suite would be the only useful test. You are just unnessecarily draining power by using that suite and it's not a legit test.
