I love the fact that the lightning cable charges and syncs my phone A LOT faster than the old 30 pin cable but i have a lot of those cables and my iHome that I bought. That is probably my only rant about my iPhone 5 thats hardware related.

My car doesn't have an iPod cable, it has a USB port than if used with an iPod/ iPhone, it gets iPod functionality though I have to supply the cable. My question is, do I need an old cable and the adapter, or as I can connect any cable, I can use the iPod connectivity with the stand alone new lightning cable?

i got this the only thing i hate is that i often have the case on my ipod touch. cant connect it to my dock unless i spend the time to take it off (its an otterbox). then i have to clean the case and the ipod before putting it on again.

I bought these exact two adaptors and when I put the 30-pin-to-HDMI into the lightning-to-30-pin, the iPhone 5c says the adaptor is not allowed in this iPhone. So basically Apple sold me 3 products that are designed NOT to work together, even though the only thing I tried to use them for is exactly for what they claim to be intended.
