Thanks, Ben. Glad it's going to be useful. In actualy fact the Neon filter incorporates precisely the edge generation technique that was featured in the tutorial you unearthed last week - albeit in a typically haphazard Apple design fashion! So it's coincidentally pretty useful to generating edges (without actually 'glowing' them at all).

Ah, I wish there were a secret mechanism ... then I could use it every time. Ultimately it's just about plugging away with the stuff you know until you uncover something you didn't know before. If there's a map for that, I haven't found it yet.
