Nope i love the Spotify algorithm but after I've listened to songs on apple music with my entry level dac and iem's i could clearly notice the difference in the sound quality it actually blew my mind going back and listening to the old songs that i used to listen on Spotify which had major difference in seperation and the quality of music i got.

Yeah, even on bluetooth streaming the music just sounds better than Spotify’s. As a musician I appreciate how precise Apple Music is when creating your own library, Spotify feels like a radio, suuper messy, I love the fact that I can save and download one single song and see it in your library without needing to download the whole album, Spotify for the trained ear just falls short, buuuuuuuut, I still use it cause of my friends and how easy it is to harmonize a party with it. :)

It's always weird to me how these kinds of comparison videos praise Spotify's discovery features enough to be typically THE reason to stick with Spotify over any of the advantages of other services. A huge factor in my decision to leave Spotify is that it always shoved a deep wall of stuff I had no interest in between me and getting to music I actually like. For my listening habits at least, the Spotify algorithm is garbage. Apple Music immediately started giving me good recommendations after putting up with years of Spotify blatantly ignoring my tastes.

I was using spotify for a very long time. One day out of curiosity i tried apple music on android of course, i suddenly realised what i was actually missing out on. I usually use an IEM for listening to music so the difference is very much noticeable. Yeah the suggestion on spotify is very good but i listen to my playlist most of the time.

Nah the difference on quality is extremely noticeable. Spotify sounds like you are putting your phone into a glass and then playing the music, it sounds horrible. Apple Music sounds clearer and rich.

PROS: Apple Music is the best for a library you already love and if you want to have your own little collection, with a lot of features for iphone/airpods/etc. Great audio quality, great apple connectivity, great UI, great visuals, great library mechanics, and Apple Replay! Spotify is like very widespread used, has a lot of user created podcasts, and a pretty good playlist collection, with spotify wrapped. A lot of people use it, easy to connect to other devices, a lot of unique user generated podcasts/playlists, and podcasts CONS: Apple Music

That is the one reason, I switched to Apple Music. And went through transporting my playlists, which was with huge flaws from TuneMyMusic. He got some wrong (70 from 1500 entries) which had to be found in that huge pile of music and be corrected. Which was annoying considering Apple's handling of adding and erasing to and from playlists.

But I don't use it daily, and I'm definitely not able to tell a difference between 320 mp3 and FLAC while using bluetooth headphones on a street. To be honest in Spotify you'd sooner hear bad mixing in the track than have problem with quality.

I'm in the middle, Im in the process of trying apple music after being a long time (7 years+-) user of spotify. Podcasts arent in apple music but it is on the podcasts app (though im not sure if you can get it on an android phone). The apple music UI feels a little better or nicer to the eye, but i do love the amazing discovery features on spotify.

Anyone else prefer KZbin Music? It's my favourite so far. 3 main reasons: 1. I can add KZbin videos to playlists. Some songs, like leaked music, live performances etc are only available on KZbin videos. 2. Excellent music recommendations and auto play. They always generate relevant music to auto play compared to Spotify. 3. I get KZbin Premium together, which I can't live without.

@@Tealc2323 there is difference in loudness and audio clarity which is pretty noticeable. You don't need high end iems to notice this as well. Just use chifi iems with a dac/amp and the difference in vocals and instrument separation is pretty noticeable.

I was using Spotify until March 2023 and went to Apple Music. Several times I wanted to switch back, but the constant podcasts on my Home Screen I didn’t ask for and the A/B testing drove me away. That said, like you mentioned, it’s all a personal choice and for me, everything you mentioned, that’s why I went to Apple Music. I’m just an audio guy haha. I have both services for different reasons. Audio quality on AM is much better, you can really hear it even if you use AirPods. Algorithms on Spotify are just better at helping you find new music.

Only reason I switched after years of Spotify to AM was simple sound quality. Using Spotify for so long it does the job, but after hearing Lossless on just some cheap EarPods the difference is honestly glaring. What I will miss about Spotify is the algorithms and recommendations, and just the vibes of the platform. Simple things like the minimal buttons to push to get to certain features (ex. Apple Music Having to go to your phone settings to adjust), and those little lines that separate your tracks I like how Spotify removes those and it gives a smoother presentation imo. Spotify really gives you more than you even need but for people who are specific with their music taste it’s a great thing. When I’m on AM, it’s almost like what you have is what you get. Sure there are the playlists for genres and all that good stuff but it just feels isolated compared to Spotify. Exploring just doesn’t feel the same and I’ve yet to be pleased with any discovery or recommended stations/playlists from AM, I listen to very few artists based off their sound and when AM gives me recommendations based off similar artists, well I don’t like those artists and I don’t want to hear music that was hot back in 2014 and is never played today.

with rock and music that has a lot of instruments you absolutely do notice a difference between 12 bit music and 16 bit. It takes a pair of wired earbuds and knowing what to listen for but you can notice a difference. most people don't do any of the three things i just mentioned

The audio quality difference is definitely noticeable. And I did not just notice it via my studio headphones, the difference there is massive. I also noticed it via a lot of different devices, $100 gaming headsets, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro, the AirPods Pro 2, some cheap wired JBL in-ear earphones etc. 320 kbps is perfectly fine for a lot of people, it's more than what a lot of other services offer, like KZbin Music and their 256 kbps, but if you fancy yourself an audiophile then you have to go with Apple Music. The difference is there, it's noticeable, and once you experience it you're probably never going back, just like me.

And in the context of user experience, how does it work with CarPlay? If the voice commands are inadequate, you aren't going to be satisfied with the overall experience.

I have both Spotify and Apple Music. Spotify music sounds more flat and compressed compared to Apple Music in my opinion. I use Apple AirPods Pro second generation for reference. I think Spotify has better recommendations and a lot more ways to figure out what type of music you want. Not to mention their music discovery is pretty good in my opinion. I think Spotify is user interface is much more simpler than Apple Music. Apple Music is too crowded in my opinion. And Apple Music does have an equalizer but you have to go into the iPhone settings and then go down to the music tab to find it.

I started out on Spotify on Android too. But one day I tried Apple Music (on Android) out of curiosity, even without lossless the quality was leaps ahead of Spotify. And I was using a normal bluetooth earbuds. I listened to them back to back, listening to heavy instrumental songs, the quality on Spotify suddenly sounds so diluted compared to Apple Music. Got an iPhone later and a wired earbuds, I still compared Apple Music and Spotify (and KZbin Music), still Apple Music’s quality is still clearly better than Spotify. I unsubscribed to that service after it being left untouched for a long time, with only podcasts being the only reason I still subscribed to Spotify.

More often than not when I have infinity mode on Apple Music... playing my usual oldies 50s 60s.. some rap music comes once like every three to four songs.. One thing that every creator forgets in these videos, and some people really care about, is Apple Music's integration into the Apple ecosystem. The best part of that being the option to automate the crap out of it using Shortcuts. That's the main reason I would switch to Apple music, and why I am probably going to. For those of you who also listen to videogame music (and other nieche music, like bardcore and music from nieche shows) then remember that apple does allow you to play local files on apple music. You just need to buy/download those tracks and they'll be included. One thing I'll say having used both, It's lonely over here on apple. And if you rely on algorthims to give you recommendation then apple music isn't for you. If you are a music nerd though, Apple Music is the way to go.

There is one major category missing: UI. Apple sucks at this. It is very annoying to put one song into 3 or more playlists. You have to tap every action again for every playlist. One by one. While on spotify, you are able to add the song to multiple playlists at once. Finding songs in playlists to exchange songs for another version is very confusing the first time. After one figured it out it's OK. But you have to do this on every playlist for that song seperately. Again, same problem, different direction.

I use Spotify Premium from the past 9 years ago and noticed there was improvement year by years for its interface gestures. About sound quality i set it to Very High quality at all. However , i still need to operates the equalizer for more clarities between mid to high frequencies. But Spotify has stopped theirs 3rd parties software which I’m not available to use it in my Dj Apps. So i started subscribing Apple Music Premium and Tidal Hi Res . Believe it or not nowadays i only stick with these two Spotify and Apple Music. The Dolby Atmos are really massive different if you use the wired / wi fi hybrids hi res earbuds or related audio devices instead the bluetooth connection.

We have Apple 1 which gives you many apple products including Apple TV and Apple music and you can share it with your household. I really care the audio quality and I like Apple Music hosts and interviews with some artists. Apple music also have a daily radio with schedule. Overall, Spotify is okay but it's not close to Apple music...

Why no one mentions the Hi-Res support on Apple Music? I have never heard something like a song in 32 Bit 192KHz, it's just incredible. Now, if you use airpods or stuff like that, apple music is not worth it, as they normally only go up to AAC... Or also if you have an iPhone, you can't hear the Loseless or Hi-Res as it only supports AAC.

if you like to shuffle songs, choose apple music if you HATE shuffling songs and just wanna hear the same 6 songs everyday, choose Spotify. logic so simple, that you didn't even have to make a video about it🤯🧠
