When I married my hubby. He was earning £65 per week take home pay. Yet I was on over £2,000 per day. Yet I never judged him on his earnings. An it has NEVER been an issue between us. As I paid most of the bills. An my TV addict hubby. Only paid the TV licence. An the TV package. Where as I paid everything else. Including feeding an clothing our 3 now adult kids. His family TRIED an failed to turn my hubby against me. As they didn't like that I earned more than him. They even lied saying his first born with me wasn't his. So I kept myself an my kids far away from his abusive parents. An they took thousands of my hubby from his compensation for losing 3 fingers in a work accident. So when his parents split us up for 3yrs due to THEIR lies. My earnings went through the roof lol. I was earning up to £8,000 per day. So soon bought my own 4 bedroomed property. An my child never went without. My hubbies mother died. Then my hubby came crawling back full of apologies. After a while we did get back together. An my hubby learned his lesson as he had realised by then how abusive an draining his family were. Plus they had almost spent ALL of his £20,0000 compensation. Not that I needed a penny of it lol. Yet I helped him with his debts an we are still together now. With 3 adult kids. An 3 wonderful grandsons with another grandchild on the way. An no debts in sight.

@@rikib1171 Tolerate? As a child I didn't have a choice. So as an adult. I made my own way in life. An MY OWN family lol. An I cut out ALL the toxic siblings. It was THEM who would come chasing me for years. Needing to borrow or help them out of some mess or other. Yet the day I had my firstborn an only daughter. My spine grew massively. As none of my siblings or my dad bothered with my daughter. As my dear sis had her first live baby son a year before me. So he was my dad's favourite grandchild. My daughters birth was ignored. An her first 2 xmaxes an birthday's were ignored by my dad an siblings. An as a now mother I was NOT going to put up with this any longer. So I stopped visiting my family until my dad got ill. Then stopped again after his death as they made it clear they didn't want me or my hubby an kids in their lives. So my kids grew up with no aunts an uncles. Only my friends took those places instead. An my kids thrived having loving aunts an uncles who actually valued each of them. Coming from a large family. People always expected us to be close. An we were until I was shipped off to boarding school. Then the divorce happened an I was blamed for not being there. Not that I had a choice. As I was 10yrs old then. An stayed at boarding school till I was 13. An when I came home an felt the hate. I begged to go into care. So was in a children's home till I was 16. Then was sent home to my dad. Who told me. "You may be my kid. But I don't love you or like you so get outcry house an family" So I was thrown out at 16. So I went to USA an got my 2 doctorates in Boston. Came back at 18. Got married then went back to USA to finish my qualifications. An since then I earned my way through life. An money has helped but its not important to me or my now adult kids. Living life an making memories mean way more to me than money ever will. Yet its helped bring my kids an now grandkids up. Yet I still here of my siblings struggles. Not that I ever plan on helping them out ever again. I was never valued for being me. By any of them. So they hold NO value to me anymore. An my grandkids have loving uncles who are ALWAYS their for their 3 nephews. An that's my pride an joy. My kids an grandkids. I made a family I love an am proud off. My siblings an their now adult kids are just broke lovers lol. Who are always moaning or begging off someone. I have my pride. That I've NEVER needed them lol

She stayed married to him after that conversation. Wow. Wouldn't be me. People who hide their true identity until they marry you are usually abusers. This is why women shouldn't be quick to quit their jobs. Why is she telling an abusive spouse about her financial status? Why did her mom tell him about Jessica's financial status? the mom should have called the police on him. It will always make getting a divorce more difficult. So, why did they tell him about the money? Jessica doesn't need to prove she has money. I'm glad she kept a record of their conversations. wow! he broke into her mom's old house! I'm glad he was arrested. I'm glad Jessica wasn't in the house. No telling what he would have done.

I never feel sympathy for people in abusive marriages like this story. I believe that a major responsibility a person has before choosing to marry someone which is supposed to be a LIFE LONG BOND is to take the time and effort to get to know them first and if a person does that well they will pick up on red flags and cues. She obviously married him BEFORE she got to know him. So she pretty much did it to herself. I am glad things worked out so well for her in the end though.

That is definitely true but I don't understand these women who kids are through college and she's still not had a job again then the husband decides the divorce her and they've got nothing because they haven't worked in 25 years you don't ever let a man be in financial control That's just ignorant
@Trix897
@Trix897 Жыл бұрын
@@seabreezeblank1513exactly. So many marriages fall apart because the kids were the center of their lives, and they forget about nurturing the relationship with their spouse. A woman needs her own identity and her financial independence, so that she doesn’t have to depend on her spouse for financial support. Women choosing to get out of the job market to raise kids is the primary reason why there’s a wage gap. That’s it, plain and simple. We need to normalize men staying home to raise the kids as well and make the choice based on financial viability as well as who would do the better job raising the kids. It’s not always the woman in heterosexual couples.

If you want to be treated like a King then treat your partner like a Queen or King. You get what you deserve, like respect you get what you give. Respect is a two way street. Also working in the service industry is one of the harder industries since it must be hard to serve people with a smile given how many assholes there are out in the world(at least I assume since I’ve never worked in the food industry). This nonsense that you only show your “true self” after marriage is completely unreal. Yes you do become a bit more “relaxed”once you are in a relationship but you shouldn’t ever marry if you don’t truely know the other person. Thankfully my husband never treats me like OP’s husband even though he’s the only one working. My first husband was a lot like OP’s husband, he was always getting upset because I put our daughter first. I was raised that you put your needs first until you have children then everyone else.

A wise old man once told me, never strop trying to make your wife fall in love with you, even in marriage, you always gotta look to her like you did when you first laid eyes on her, and maintain the mindset of wanting to win her over, do this and she will never feel the need to look elsewhere, be the married couple that still look to each other like you're just starting to date, because once you let that passion die, it's next to impossible to recreate it, so treasure your loved ones, and for the sake of your life together with her, treasure her every day, even during the fights, even when you're apart, let her know that she means everything to you, if she's the right woman, this will ensure you two have what it takes to last

Absolutely 100% true and well said, but I want to add that this is true regardless of any gender/gender roles.
