17:45 "It is this way of respecting our blood relations that separates us from the animals, don't you think?" Actually, most animals *do* help and support their blood relatives. It's helping and supporting anyone who is *not* a blood relative that's very rare in the animal kingdom. (Interestingly, one of the rare animals which does show altruism to other members of their own species who are unrelated to them? The vampire bat.) 🦇

Inheritances, whether it be money or real estate, is not subject to be split in a divorce, it stays with the person who received it.
@reneepallo77798 ай бұрын
In theory, it's wonderful. Yet my father-in-law walked away with my mother -in - law's inheritance, and the judge agreed. Smh
@lindasavelle17318 ай бұрын
If inherited money is placed in a joint account or invested in a joint business or the partner has established long term residency in a property and made improvements to it, if you have unfortunately signed an agreement allowing the other person access to the money, if the inheritance was not properly and officially handled at the time of distribution, in other words it was just handed over, as per agreement between the survivors, if there are citizenship and child custody questions, that and more may make a judge declare an inheritance marital property. My best advice is to get lawyered up. Also inheritance laws vary from country to country. There are countries in the world where the husband owns everything his wife owns outright, in other words a female has no property or inheritance rights at all.

I would not put up with his disrespect (or the MIL's, either) for nearly so long. For MIL, I'd either shut off my phone or ignore her calls. For him... divorce. When my hubby got unreasonable, I looked him in the eye and told him that 'things are going to change, or things ARE going to change.' And I meant it. And did it.

I'm living with my daughter's family. The experience can go both ways, e.g., I have a place to live and they have a back-up for the 9 year old's needs. That saves them valuable time off from work when school is on a break. I also help with some bills. And the dishes...
