Wait, he really thought that would work? He thought that he could just buy a condo and move in with his mistress and put his wife's name as the guarantor and she would just be stuck paying for the condo? Is he stupid? He also did not think that he had to pay alimony or that his affair partner would have to pay money? Sounds like she was blessed to be rid of him, but she should have gotten rid of him long before then. He also thought an apology would make everything better?

Most states don’t allow alienation of affection anymore. Even in the states where it’s still on the books, the courts don’t like it and it’s almost impossible to get. Since she works and makes a lot of money and he is unemployed she would never be able to get alimony. It would also be very difficult for her to get anything paid back because they were married and technically the money is joint property.
@laurenrose28952 жыл бұрын
Unlikely a court would make him pay alimony when he’s unemployed and she’s a high wage earner. I’d also like to know what galaxy they’re living in where compensation is routinely paid for cheating spouses. Or have things changed in the last 20 years??

If he refuses repeatedly to pull his own weight... Check your savings account to make sure he hasn't accessed it behind your back. (This is why you should minimize joint accounts and always have your own personal separate accounts!) Make sure he understands that marriage is about partnership, not parisitism. Also, putting someone down as a guarantor without their knowledge & permission is FRAUD, aka probably a FELONY, since condos aren't pocket change!

Ahhh. This story is very familiar to me, except I had the added bonus of 2 children in the mix. While I was working 60 hrs/week to pay all the bills. He was on the internet trolling for women when he was supposed to be job hunting. All this while neglecting our children. I made a plan and, with the help of my best friend, I packed up the entire house & moved while he was not home. My best friend told him she needed him to watch her kids because she had to leave town...lol She was out of town helping me move...lol She dropped him off at our house & high tailed it out of the driveway before he could see the empty house🤣🤣😅🤣🤣 Of course, we divorced. I told him that if I could support 4 people on my salary, 3 should be a walk in the park...lol I remarried a couple of years after we separated, and I am still married - 18 years later!

I wonder if guys should use that same reasoning when women want to be stay-at-home wives/mothers? Like I said before, be careful of anyone in a rush to quit their job as soon as you marry that person. Housework and childcare should be done by both spouses not just one. People like Jack some of these women in these stories want the other spouse to care for them while they go play/cheat/spend money as if they are still children and not married adults with responsibilities. Why do you have start thinking about your future at 40? Start before then. Jack has got to be cheating. She should have cut off the money train. I don't how she didn't expect him to be cheating. He doesn't have to worry. They will be getting a divorce soon. 19-year-old girlfriend? Why did she lend him money to do all that? She was the fool. How is a 37-year-old man going to take care of a 19-year-old girlfriend when he has no job? Was he seriously trying to be a sugar daddy with his soon-to-be ex-wife's money? There is the apology that cheaters say when they don't want to face the consequences of their actions. Having to pay alimony and loss of affection will not stop them from being together. Can you imagine being 18/19 paying the ex-spouse of your lover compensation for loss of affection?
