The child with total pieces of crap for parents is often the worse victim in these stories. CPS needs to take the child away and put him in an orphanage or find foster care.

​@@reginyra8401 it doesn't have to be paid. In NJ we had voted to add extra funds into covering maternity leave. I know it was always covered through the Unemployment Office, but the new law extended the time they could get off. FMLA also adds job protection for up to 12 weeks.

I could be wrong, but I think Rebecca was talking (and messing around) with the guy on the Nature's documents. And when Rebecca said she wanted to marry him, he nonchalantly agreed, but never intended to go through.

She apparently screwed up twice, regarding TWO men she had never met, and never had a proper introduction to. But seriously, she should have at least known the first name of her intended target.

This characterisation of a jealous "friend" was quite well written and realistic. Initially no warning signs, but then the woman couldn't hide her jealousy and it exploded out in little nasty comments, which she tried to explain away as stress from looking after a young child. Even when she revealed her plan, the writing wasn't overdone. And the voice actor did a good job, not overdoing it. The pacing was good, and the overall characterisation of a jealous woman was believable and well portrayed. The last bit with her invoking her "best friend" status was also well done. And of course she blamed her husband for having "barely" cheated and is clueless about why he has every right to be angry at her. She called OP's parents terrible people and called her own husband terrible, yet she was the one who tricked him by deliberately getting pregnant so she could quit working. The projection is way off the charts. A long story but the storyline justified it, and it was well written and well acted, and a pleasure to listen to.

The story was totally UNREALISTIC. There was no way in hell a plan like that could work and TRYING to do it shows some form of severe mental illness or cognitive disorder.

I could definitely get on board with that! Like if two villains set their sights on one target simultaneously, then find out about one another, then the two villains duke it out while taking one another down while the victim sits back and watches it all unfold. Could be interesting! These stories always have an antagonist and a protagonist. I could see the story unfold any which way. An antagonist vs antagonist scenario, a protagonist vs antagonist vs antagonist scenario. I really wouldn't care what setting it was in really. It could be set in an office, or it could be a bad Mil and bad Mother vs a good Dil/Daughter type of thing etc.

I do agree with Rebecca on one thing: i have the same views about weddings as she does. The wedding is not as important as many think it is, i'd rather have a small thing at the courthouse with like a pizzaparty after, at an arcade or bowling. Save money for the future, invest in the marriage

Baby trapping someone is completely inexcusable 🤬🤬. My mother did that to my father and made MY life a living hell until she finally died and since she passed, my health has taken a massive change to autoimmune diseases and I’m basically housebound now !

IF a parent is having a child as a TOOL for LEVERAGE or BLACKMAIL against another person then they are just USING the child. That is NOT a loving parent who will nurture their child and provide a safe and stable upbringing. I am sorry about your illness but I am not a doctor and I honestly do not understand what baby trapping has to do with autoimmune disorders?

Geez that was crazy, also Rebecca was an idiot for thinking pregnancy was a good way out of her work contract & thinking any of her plans could work out without thinking twice/checking shit. I feel bad for her kid & hope he's safe with his grandparents now that Rebecca lives with her parents. Also hope the guy she cheated with suffers too cause it sounds like he deserves it. I think Rebecca's husband deserves some suffering as well, despite everything Rebecca sues him for domestic abuse & child support, so depending on how much either owes for the cheating & domestic abuse they possibly cancel out some.(I'm making guesses since given everything that money is switching between the both of them) Now both are still miserable, Rebecca having to work to pay off the loan & make a living for her & her son while her ex-husband probably got charged with domestic violence & has to pay for child support.

Let's see what this will bring! Ok, several minutes in.. A faux 'happy' friend with serious projection issues.. A wedding planner who thought something was suss (yay!) And a ramp-up from faux 'happy' to deranged jealousy in trying to force 'signed' documents to change who the bride is.. Where will it go from here! xD ETA Aaand we have gleeful, eeeevil bragging... And the protagonist enjoying a sweet sweeeeeeeet reveal! Oh, and looks like even more to come! ETA OK neither Rebecca or husband great people (DV is never ok) and she tried the whole thing as a 'way out' of a job.. Best that they're no longer together, but I really hope the kid at least has loving grandparents even if his mom is lacking to him :/ And a happy Stacy ending!

I find it hilarious how people are saying Rebecca's husband shouldn't have slapped her. I'm sorry but did any of you listen to the story? She 10000000000% deserved it, she trapped him with a child and cheated on him, that slap was on the extremely low end of things that he could have done, a slap is honestly quite restrained in my opinion in these situations, he could have beat her senseless but he just slapped her and walked away

I had my wedding in the registry office in the UK . Our choice as it was much cheaper then having a white wedding in church . My dad was a bit disappointed as I'm the only girl. As he wanted to walk me down the aisle .still did in a way walking me down aisle in registry office to my husband where the registrar was waiting to conduct wedding cermony The money saved went on some furniture for the flat . We can renew the wedding vows anytime after marriage but cannot sign another marriage certificate.. its just celebration

We had our wedding in a public park. Nice little avenue of trees off to one side. No charge, just had to let the council know we'd be doing it. Luckily it stayed fine.

In many US states, it doesn't matter who the father is, it is will be considered the husband's child regardless if the couple is married. Even if cheating is proved. (Not sure if the rules have changed with the introduction of DNA tests) In the past, the biological father would have to adopt his own kid and the husband would have to sign off on the adoption.

They shouldn't unless they were aware the kid isn't theirs and legally adopted them. But some states don't care if the man already played a fatherly role to the child, the court will determine the man improved the quality of life for the child. Tho they can eventually return to the court to stop paying CS if the mother remarries or the real father is found.

In many places, unless the bio father wants custody, the courts will deem the father declared on the child’s birth certificate as responsible even if he is not the bio dad.

It does not matter - there is a child and he is the father - DNA test will say one way or the other. The father has to take responsibility and help pay for the raising of a child. But then he could leave his job so he can get out of helping - hell - I know there are judges that will help men get out of paying child support or only pay the smallest amount. Yep, my son’s father did leave a good job and the judge even helped - and not to forget wiped out over $1000 he still was pose to pay. Yep, males make sure they help each other out.

What sort of place doesn't give maternity leave.Also, what sort of place binds you to a contract? Where is the only way you? Can get out of that contract is if you marry or have a baby?

It might depend on the length of the contract. If the contract is fixed term for only a year or two there could be penalties for quitting early.

In the UK Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) is paid for up to 39 weeks. 90% of the woman's average weekly earnings (before tax) for the first 6 weeks and then £156.66 or 90% of average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks. Employment rights are also protected while on Statutory Maternity Leave. This includes the right to: pay rises build up (accrue) holiday return to work: you have the right to return to exactly the same job that you had before you took maternity leave.

That lady married a rotten man! His character would’ve been put into court as well, and he would’ve ended up having to pay for things. That poor kid didn’t deserve either parent. I don’t care if she stopped the birth control pills to get pregnant and married to get out of her job contract. That’s nothing too horrible! Trapping men into marriage happened millions of times in the past. My one uncle on my dad’s side was trapped in to marriage by his wife pretending she was pregnant. He forgave her and they had a good marriage. They had seven kids that are older than me. One of them passed away from cancer a few years back.

Same with my parents. Shotgun wedding. My mom was 3 months pregnant with my sister. This was 1965. It was almost unheard of unwed mothers, society frowned on it.

So, drinking according to the Fibonacci Sequence? Interesting. But it would go 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89... By minute 11 you'd be having to do one drink almost every second, by minute 12 you'd just be pouring the drink down your throat steadily. Now I'm trying to figure out how this would be physically possible. Hmmm, mathematical & anatomical conundrums!!

Over all good story. (At least more thought out than the usual friend/sister stealing the SO stories.) But if it's actually based on a true story I feel bad for the kid. The divorcing parents should've just put him up for adoption when they divorced. Being raised by one parent that didn't want you & only concieved you to for such a dumb reason & another that MIGHT visit once in a while & grumble about supporting you when you weren't wanted by them either is a much worse thing than being in foster care for a few months. A 3 yr old is still young enough that tons of parents would want to adopt him.
