I liked the way the family dealt with the older daughter. No fuss, no muss, no giving clues as to what they decided. All tied up in a neat package.

Obviously not Italians. We dont put our elders in homes. We just take shifts as a caretaker for them in their home. The family is so big you only need to do one day every 14 - 21 days anyway. Thats not so bad. Besides, our elderly are hilarious. My nonna threw ashtrays at the tv when the jets didnt cover the over. Good thing her aim sucked and her booky made house calls.
@nightdrivenen7909
@nightdrivenen7909 Жыл бұрын
I am almost certain that if the Elders wanted to go live in a good and proper elderly care facility over staying with the rest of the family; ya'll wouldn't argue against their wishes. So to say that they are not Italians because the Elders CHOSE to go live in an old-folks home just seems beyond redundant.

@@nightdrivenen7909 while we would certainly respect their wishes within reason, it's unlikely any of them will end up leaving their home. It's easier to visit in home and they get A LOT of visitors.

So many contradictions Jane has, especially when she demands OP to sell their condo and continue with the renovation plan of her parents' house and then tells OP that if she didn't want to live in the renovated house, OP could go find a condo...

The fact Jane had plans to take over the house & then sell it to deal with her & her husband's debt only to get upset that her parents sold it while acting like she was crushed that her childhood home was sold like she cares past getting money. It's also slightly ironic that she's mad OP put her parents in a retirement/nursing home(from the sound of it OP didn't the parents did with maybe some assistants from OP) before acting like she'd care for her parents after being called out when everyone knows Jane wants to be the one cared for & then after she, her husband & son got kicked out she got stuck caring for her MIL & son. I think the after talking about Jane & Eddie's plans to sell the house & shit fell apart the story forgot that OP is pressing charges cause there's no mention of the fact Jane was suppose to go to jail. I'm guessing she settled out of court to prevent going to jail, I want to imagine despite the debt she managed to get a loan so she could pay OP quickly. I don't trust Jane & her husband to raise their son given how Jane thought she could just go home, kick people out she looked down on while they paid for renovations still as her aging parents care for her & everyone cares for her kid under the excuse she's the oldest child in the family so she gets special treatment. Not to mention the fact she & her husband planned to sell the house from under everyone's feet because they need the money for their debts cause they're not wise with finances since they wasted it on shit. I don't even known what Eddie is doing but seems like he goes along with Jane's shit so he's probably as bad as her. On top of all that Jane assaulted a minor child cause she hated him & his parents since his parents work in a factory, made it clear she thought of her nephew as an "it" cause of how much she disliked him cause of his parents. While Jane & her husband got what they deserve I worry for their son cause thanks to financial struggles Jane, her husband & Eddie's parents live in a trailer were they have to grow some of their food in the garden next to their trailer. While the son is being cared for Jane also has to care for her MIL which depending on how bad her condition is & as it gets worse Jane might have to focus more on her. I want to imagine sane/stable family members agree to take in the son with Jane & Eddie getting visitation rights, while working on their debts they manage to take some money out of what is earned as some form of child support. Eddie & Jane are still miserable but at least the kid is safe & they still get to see him but don't have influence over him.

$30,000 was literally my before insurance bill for a regular birth with zero complications. It was the only hospital nearby that had a maternity ward. That was clear back in 2007. I imagine the cost has likely gone up. Thankfully, my insurance covered all of my bill. The baby's godforsaken stay while I recovered was $2000, even though we were in the same room.

22:27 Assuming this fictional story takes place in the United States, it's insanely out of touch and elitist. (I can only speak to how thinga are in Southwestern Ohio.) Do you know that trailer parks (the ones with rental units on lot, not the ones with residents owning their units and renting the lots) have YEARS long waiting lists? Did you know that modular homes INCREASE in value? Even the old ones increase in value (some exceptions for units that are in exceptional disrepair due to neglect, damage, non-functioning vital systems, wear & tear, and presence of meth/lead/asbestos). Did you know that it's INCREDIBLY hard to find ANY trailer parks with available lots or units? Trailer parks might have been some haven of trash and poverty, but now that the middle class has collapsed trailer parks are seen as a great alternative to having no privacy with neighbors by having to be crammed together in one building. Serioisly, I WISH I could get a trailer to rent. I would LOVE to buy a used trailer and own my own piece of land. I am struggling; and many, MANY Americans are struggling NOT because they're moron spenders like Jane but because the cost of living has skyrocketed while pay hasn't. You can be a smart spender, do everything to stay healthy (to not rack up medical debt), work hard to pay your bills, pay down all your debt dilogently (car, student loans, etc.) and all it will take is one catastrophe (needing new tires, which costs approximately $1,000) for you to fall back on bills and crawl deeper into debt. It's insane.
