Good video. Worth noting that the pay terminal you’re using also has to have NFC capabilities. Not all locations have them. I know the Walmart I go to doesn’t. Samsung pay can use both NFC and MST which stands for Magnetic Secure Transmission. MST mimics the signal that your physical credit card does so you can use it almost anywhere. Something worth considering if you have a Samsung phone

Samsung removed MST from newer phones, as not a lot of terminals worldwide don't have NFC

MST hasn't been in the Samsung phones for about 2 or 3 generations now. They removed one of the best features unfortunately.

I went through this and at the end my phone isn't NFC. 2023 Android 13 Samsung. So maybe mention that at jump Street if you do more of these. Just type NFC in settings and if it doesn't show then it's not. Interesting to know all this. 👍

Yes Samsung pay works just fine but not as widely accepted globally as Google Pay.

I like samsung pay to , but unfortunately the new update is keeping everyone from adding any card to Samsung pay so Google pay or Apple pay are left.

@@GearsToStreet Thanks for commenting. I didn't know that but expect Samsung to fix it quickly. Google needs to get Google Pay working on the Fitbit Sense and Pixel watch. They say it's coming but so is Christmas. Thanks again.

I switched to samsung and google pay occassionally gets declined which im now finding myself to make sure i have my cards around.. whilst when i have my iphone i rarely bring my card and feel comforable enough to be cardless when out. So for now, im keeping the apple watch in that regards.

Google Pay will not work on the Galaxy 4 watch. Some Samsung Phones have problems with Google Pay.

This week Google released Google Wallet to Canada and the USA. I am in Canada and Google Wallet actually replaced the Google Pay App. The Google Pay App worked on some Samsung Phones but not the G4Watch. You should be fine in the US and Canada with your current setup. If you plan on getting a SmartWatch then make sure you get the GW4 which wil use Samsung Pay. Paying with your watch is even better than a phone. Thanks for watching my video.👍

The latest Samsung software update wiped out Google Pay for me .... apparently this is a very common issue due to some sort of security conflict. I switched to Samsung Pay and it works exactly the same.. and I can now even open the app from standby.
