Exactly I think it's the best part it can be filtered out but I wouldn't dare 😂

I love it when it’s still warm. I use a free alcohol dilution calculator and then keep tasting til it’s strong as I like. Always slightly stronger than the proof I’m shooting for
@TheShineshack10 ай бұрын
Yep I have noticed if you make it stronger then let it sit in refrigerator for a few weeks you can't even taste the alcohol it marrys together so good the longer it sits the better it is

same way I have done it for years. except for the concentrated juice. I will try that next time for sure...

Awesome it's definitely some good stuff if helps pack more apple flavor in there also something to try is adding some Carmel syrup like you get for ice cream it's awsome also I recently switched to using a better cinnamon Ceylon instead of cassia it's really good all the little things make a huge difference in the end

So what's the purpose of using apple and apple concentrate also with the cider? Is it a texture or flavor profile issue? Thanks.

Great video and love your still , I have a question tho , do you let the heads evaporate 1st then collect heads etc ? Of so how long do you let the heads evaporate off for and at what temp ? Thanks

Do you remove the cloves as well when you take out the cinnamon sticks?

Years ago we put apple cider in a crock pot on low. We threw in a bag of cinnamon jolly ranchers and melted them down. It was delicious. No booze, but everyone liked it. If you have kids, it would be a good option. I have no way to make moonshine, so if I was following this recipe, what could I buy to add in?
@whateverthedaybrings226829 күн бұрын
Everclear will work if you want to use a high proof grain alcohol. You could also use vodka if you want lower proof. If you can find an apple brandy that would also work. Given there is plenty of apple flavor you are adding, apple brandy would not be necessary, it would likely just add more depth and a slightly wider apple profile. Cheers! Tip: when using clear alcohol like everclear or vodka, you can really smooth out the taste by running it through a charcoal filter. A Brita filter or a zero filter will work. I typically run it through 3-5 times. WARNING: It will make an already dangerously easy to drink, like apple pie moonshine, drink even easier to drink; this is especially the case with high proof alcohol like everclear. That said, please drink responsibly.

Hey Red. Thanks for another great video, I have a question for you. When you refer to apple cider does this contain alcohol ? or is it apple juice ? Merry Christmas & Happy New year too you Red and your family. (South Wales UK)
@thealembicdiary1814 Жыл бұрын
My guess is non alcoholic
@TheShineshack Жыл бұрын
Just apple cider non-alcoholic

How sweet was it with the 3 cups of suger? Would it been sweet enough just from the juices? (This looks good btw just curious if it’s overally sweet, under or just right!👌🏻)
@TheShineshack3 ай бұрын
It definitely is semi-sweet with just the juices and the concentrate, but the part of North Carolina I'm in. Everybody loves their super sweet tea and they love anything that's super sweet. That's why I added the amount of sugar I did but it's definitely worth trying it without the added sugar and just the concentrates cuz I love that as well. I've made it that way before too but everybody in my family loves it with all that sugar 😂 when you have a lot of sugar you can't drink a whole lot of it at a time, but it sure is good That's why I perfected this recipe and just stuck with it over the years

Btw the apple cider is just a different name for apple juice 😅

Could you do that with any fruit?

To each their own, but please don't do white Christmas trees.
@TheShineshack9 ай бұрын
Why not ? I'm curious 😂 It's white because it's a Dallas cowboys themed Christmas tree blue,white silver it's a tribute I do for my old man every year he was always a die hard cowboys fan and when he passed away it's just one of them weird things I do every year 😆
