@@RobbieAmericanthey told him the events at the river had been recorded? Or, are you referring to them telling him the interrogation room was audio and video recorded? If you were referring to the river, I wonder if he thought it was a very distant view that didn’t catch what was actually said and they wouldn’t see him walking up with that knife clipped onto his pocket? Otherwise, it just makes no sense that he knew before that interview that it had been recorded because his lies just fly in the face of everything that went on and was videotaped. He’s just really stupid and thinks everyone is gullible I guess. Crazy. Anyway, have a great day!

@@MrTeeglesworth I have watched so many trials, as I’m sure a lot of us have who are interested in the whole process. But this one has blown my mind. I feel like we spectators are incredibly divided on his guilt or innocence. And now as more information comes out, it’s looking even worse for him. I always felt he could have walked away and he wasn’t as innocent as he wants us to believe. After watching the interrogation- wow. There was more to the story after all.

Nor did you hear the sober witness testimony from a completely unrelated party. You don't get to just decide what truth is and reject every piece of evidence that conflicts with the reality you've created. That's not how truth works. I know what the video looks like. I've watched it a handful of times, and yes, it does look that way until you have it broken down for you moment by moment and hear the totality of what transpired. I guess you know more from watching a video than a unanimous jury who has all the facts 🤷

I can understand it. All _ACTUAL LOGICAL_ people can. He even says very clearly after the officer says something about him acting in self defense: “Yeah, but this is Wisconsin,” and “people who defend themselves end up being accused of being this and being that...” He obviously thinks that if he were to tell the truth, and nothing but the truth, he wouldn’t have ANY chance at all to be seen as innocent under the law. He thinks if he just tweaks a few minor facts, it will give him the edge he needs. I truly feel for the guy. He acted out of panic here. I wish he didn’t revoke his right to a lawyer here, and waited until he talked to one first before choosing to gamble by talking to the detective and fibbing. The video exonerates his actions, ffs.

I was a victim of domestic violence from my ex. I lied to the police to protect her and out of ignorance and shock. I pushed her down, as she was hitting me and she took my phone out of my hand that I was trying to use to record her for evidence. When she fell I took my phone back immediately but did not touch her, and then started recording. She called the cops. When they came, I didn't tell them the most accurate version. I failed to mention she was hitting me, and that she took my phone out of my hands.. They twisted my story so that It was that "she was damaging my property so i went up and attacked her over property". At that point I couldnt go back. Also, they wouldnt allow me to use any supportive evidence of her leading up to the "violence" to prove self defense because in a DV case, it's up to the prosecutor to bring in events leading to the charged act (in my opinion this is absolute corruption). Mind you, she had many, many times beaten me and I did nothing and took bruises for it. 2-3 of the times she grabbed me by my shirt collar, and repeatedly battered me so bad it ripped my shirt completely off. The one time I had previously called the police, she told them that a bruise on her arm, which she got from herself from hitting me with her arms as she missed her swings, were from me. There are many reasons why innocent people "lie". First, there's the SHOCK of not fully processing the reality of what is happening. Then there are other reasons that do not come from actual guilt. The best thing for anyone, ethically guilty or innocent, is to NEVER speak to the police. They're in the business of story telling. With that said, idk if this guy is guilty or not. It seems like he may have stepped out of the self defense area a bit. In my case, it was a simple push after taking multiple hits and a direct attack at me while i was trying to just stay back and record. But I'm just commenting on your comment about how "innocent people don't lie". That's completely incorrect. But im now a convicted DV (reduced). So... there's a lot that people don't know about the system.

And then the old man would reply oh did anybody see a phone my friend lost his phone.... I'm not a good citizen young well raised teenager would have said hey everybody this guy lost his phone let's help him find it right in a perfect world that would be the way it should go down... All the teenagers rally up and they help this old guy and his friend find their phone.... And then they start talking and they go oh you're an engineer my friends going to college to be an engineer and then the good old man would say oh I'll give you a letter of recommendation that you're a good citizen.... In a perfect world where kids were raised with respect.... Narcissism is real... These kids felt entitled to ascribe a false narrative to this man.... Calling him a child molester drawing the wrong negative attention to an innocent old man looking for his friend's cell phone.... These kids don't own the river.... These kids are clearly antagonistic and narcissistic and bully behavior... And just the other day on true crime there was a similar story how these kids killed this young man and then they jumped on his back and were dry humping him and it was a big group of them there was probably like 15 of them and they killed this young man so people wake up narcissism is real and the Pac-Men tality here is for sure.... This man has been a good citizen all his life he doesn't have any criminal record he's not a child molester he's not a serial killer he's a good upstanding citizen here in America..... @@louciphre2803 Considering everyone that was there lied, the only truthful knowledge of the situation can be obtained from watching the video, which clearly shows the man is innocent since it was in self-defense. The standard for lethal self-defense cases is whether a reasonable person in the same situation would feel the threat of death or severe bodily injury. Many people in that situation would indeed worry about being severely beaten or being drowned, after all they struck him while he was down in the water and also pushed him back down into the water when he was trying to get up. Additionally, he has a bad heart. The only other thing that’s supposed to be taken into consideration is whether the person instigated the incident, which I don’t think he did. But let’s assume he did, obviously nobody feared him or thought that he was a threat. He didn’t initiate physical contact, instead it was the girl/female who grabbed and pushed him who did, which proves he wasn’t a threat since she was unafraid of him. He had every right to stop her from touching him without his consent. But the sexist young men obviously think that females are allowed to touch people without their consent and without consequences, hence they went into white knight mode and attacked him, which prompted him to defend himself against them. The jury obviously let their emotions influence their decision, and coupled with their ignorance of the law, they convicted him, but of lesser charges than he was being prosecuted for because they knew in their hearts that the young adults were to blame, but they weren’t going to let an adult “get away” with unaliving a “boy” and injuring other “children”. Hopefully he wins his appeal.

He doesn’t know that there is video of the incident at this point. I truly feel for the guy. He acted out of panic here. I wish he didn’t revoke his right to a lawyer here, and waited until he talked to one first before choosing to gamble by talking to the detective and fibbing. He ruined himself by talking to police without talking to a lawyer first. A good lawyer would have told him that getting attacked and punched by multiple people, even without a knife, could have been enough to mount a self-defense case. Shut up already - they only began razzing him after he rushed their tubes and wouldn't go away. Stop blaming the victims who were bothering NO ONE until this freak came upon them. Look, if any of you bot-trolls had any sense, you'd realise this guy has an authority complex. Teens smoking pot, drinking on the river, probably being rowdy too, that's not okay for Miu. But remember Miu said there were tons of people on the river drinking as was his group, so it's interesting that he focused in on these teens....maybe it was the pot. He mentioned it several times in the police interview. Anyway, he clearly thought the boys had picked up this missing phone and rushed over to the tubes to try and snatch up whatever he thought was the phone - that's when he realised his mistake. There was no phone there and those teens had every right to tell this fckn freak to get the fck away from them. He should have tuck tailed and walk back to his group then. But its that complex of his, and all that beer he admitted to drinking that won't take this sht from some pot smoking teens that won't let him go back to his friends. So he feels around for his knife in the pocket and pulls it out and flips the blade up (that takes effort!) and holds it in a fist at his side, because he knows in seconds HE'S gonna blow and all hell's gonna break loose. In his mind, "Let the gutting begin..." THAT'S what happened. As someone said before, I wonder why he had to promise his wife that THIS time going down the river would be peaceful. And I wonder why she divorced him before the end of the trial - she said she still loved him, whatever that was supposed to mean. We've all seen the videos - we know who put their hands on Miu, and we know why, (he struck the girl after she put her hands on his shoulder to shove him away - a definite trigger) and we saw the aftermath of his rage. No, had he been scared he would have shown those kids the knife he had in his hand and started backing up to get away. That's street smarts. The jokes would have been over and he'd been safe....except for maybe a brandishing a weapon charge waiting for him at the landing spot. But see, the girl touching his shoulder was an invitation, he's just *trying* to call it self-defence now. But don't be fooled - he gutted those boys with precision, a Romanian-style gutting, and then he lies non-stop, on video, straight in your face, no confusion about it.....and here you are blaming the victims. Shame on you.

They were the ones who had self defense rights if anything. He was never justified in any way to do what he did.
