Clear audio and a sharp noiseless picture! Yes, please make a part two to the Mac mini home server. Really considering having it backup iCloud Photos for the family to an external drive and my NAS.

Only part of WiFi 7 was implemented. Next year’s iPhones will likely get the full WiFi 7 implementation.

UniFi user here. I have a detached garage and dug a trench to bring PoE to it. But I didn’t have to go as far as your barn appears to be. This will also be my first CES and hope to meet up. Long-time follower of your channel.

Honestly, I don't believe you gonna clean it up, please make a video on how you manage that little chaos! :D

You can also run a fiber cable to your shed if it’s too far for an underground cat 6A cable. There’s another KZbinr who shows how he did that.

2 tips, and no cable management comment! 1. Dont use the 8 switch ports on the UDM-SE, use the Pro Max switch ports instead, the UDM ports are limited by a 1gbps backplane and no intelligent switching etc, the pro max is layer 3 and has an 84gbps backplane and 2. try to terminate your RJ45s with much less free cable strands, leaving that much untwisted wont be great for connections especially as your connectors are shielded.

I have recently upgraded my home infrastructure to Unifi ecosystems as well. The Unifi Drive Bridge Pro will do just well for you to extend your infrastructure the barn perfectly.

I love your whole set-up and am in awe of it. Gosh, the speeds! my days. I'm impressed you have PoE on 2.5G - what could that be for? If it were me, I'd dig a little trench to the place at the end of the garden and sink a pipe for cables. Then you can do the superfast things, or do the wifi thing. And also you have a pipe so you can take electricity out there, or even a little bit of water supply. You can't do a faucet over wifi. You never know what your kids will want out there.

Good call on the outside solution. I use the PoE / 2.5 for the Wi-Fi 7 AP’s!

Damn, bro, save some Internet for the rest of us. Now I know who to call the next time I have bandwidth issues. Seriously, though, that is incredibly impressive speed, both up and down. Regarding your DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and Mic 2, they are great devices. Zero complaints. Two things: 1. I'd love to see what you do and how you do it to get the Bokeh effect from the Pocket 3 since it has a fixed aperture lens.2. If you want to use it out and about while moving around, you're going to want to get something like a Tilta Hydra Alien Mini or Movemax Blade to fix/help with the Z axis up and down. It's the only real issue it has and the only way I've found to overcome it is "ninja walking" (ugh!) or a 3rd party Z-axis gimbal handle/arm.

That cable termination on your switch is criminal! The jacket of the cable should be crimped inside the connector.

I would run cable to that barn. I had the same issue on my property and ran all new cat eight cable granted I only have spectrum gig so the upload still stinks though lol 35 Mb.
@beardfm9 күн бұрын
Cable uploads are rough, but you're probably right. Does Cat8 offer better speeds over long distances?

@@beardfmno real benefit to anything above Cat 6A. Just be sure to bury it deep as it’s conductive. If you can, do fibre instead. 👌🏼
@realkevintaylor3 күн бұрын
@@beardfm yeah it says it’s ready for 40 Gb symmetrical over the same distance. I think 300 feet. The run I had to do was only about 125 feet and I’m still getting gigabit speeds out there.
