She must've wanted to share her achievements with "apple", as that's what they both wanted, so she texts "apple's" number, talking to him about things but she's texting herself back and forth from her and "apple"'s phone to try and mimic the way they would talk. The "you knew me better than I knew myself" was in reference to the fact that she knew him so well that she was able to text herself as him convincingly. "Apple" asked her why she wanted to go into Princeton, and she talks about how she wished she could help him, but they both say maybe in another life, talking about how if they were to be reborn, Julie may be able to help "apple" this time
