My mom taught for over 35 years. The three people in any school you must show respect for and even befriend are the school secretary, the custodian(s), and the special education teacher. This rule pretty much applies to any job, with perhaps with the exception of the special ed teacher. Always treat office secretaries and custodians with respect.

Folks don't always do that though. I should know - I was a school custodian for several years but wound up getting fired for refusing to tolerate all the bullying and abuse going on there. And I'm not talking about the students when I say that. The principal was the worst bully of all and she was afraid of me because I wouldn't kowtow to her. But let's just say in the end... ooh, karma, you nasty. 😈

My late dad was an Oxford don. His students were asked 3 questions, 2 of which they answered correctly. The 3rd 'What is the cleaner's name?', they failed. He told them her name, her birthday and family members. 'Treat EVERYONE with respect, whatever their status in life', was the advice dad gave them.

First of all, how do people like Angela work at companies not knowing what their CEO looks like? Second of all, any person with compassion knows that you are respectful to everyone no matter what their title is. Don’t sleep on janitors!

Don’t know what CEOs looked like at some companies I worked at. Never laid eyes on them. Not sure I could recognize them from their pictures either.

Throwing wine on someone is assault so charges could easily be pressed against Angela. Hopefully both the CEO and HR department had evidence of Angela violating actual company policies and causing a detriment to the company because otherwise the company would be facing a large wrongful termination lawsuit for firing Angela. Especially for actions carried out at an event occurring outside company property, that was not a sanctioned or sponsored company event. The CEO would have to press assault charges against Angela and file for a restraining order citing fears of another bodily attack to be able to have any chances of convincing a judge that the termination was lawful and just. You would need a paper trail of other assaults, threats, and harassment occurring on company property or at company events, against members of staff, or the loss of contracts due to Angela's unprofessional and dangerous behavior to justify her firing. As satisfying as it would be to simply fire someone who was rude or was mean to you a company cannot fire an employee without justifiable cause within the company without the potential of facing a hefty lawsuit for wrongful termination.

Think about it, you pay for the wedding in advance, but if you cancel it then you have to pay the fees. (Maybe it’s the fees to the staff?) Probably does depend on where you are

Considering there is something called wedding cancellation insurance I imagine this can be an issue

@@catsncrows sure, if you cancel the wedding before the day it’s supposed to happen, so you don’t lose your deposits. Not on the same day. Everything already been set up: flowers, food, decorations, music, venue. You’ve either paid for it all or are about to. Cancellation fees do not make sense on the same day. If you can explain how they do, I am certainly willing to listen.

The part of these stories that are all the same, is that the nice person in the stories never just say the truth. They just beat around the bush and then say the bad person in the story didn't listen. I told you this, I told you that, I just never utter those important words. Why can't they just utter the words. I AM THE CEO. ETC. But then, there would be no stories.

I would ask to see an end to such annoying laughers made at the end of each meaningless remarks made to someone else? It's annoying and it's hard for me to enjoy when someone makes herself laugh even after so many inappropriate remarks to another commentator.
