Really relaxing video and also a relaxing job, love getting my hand tools out and pruning an apple tree or two, planning on uploading more in the next couple of years.

Very therapeutic to watch, and to do. I also like weeding so never too disappointed when asked to tidy a bed or two. Your end result was very tidy and well balanced.

Thanks mate, I love the big hedge cutting jobs, but pruning/weeding are very satisfying jobs, very under rated jobs. 👍

What is right time for summer pruning
@craigt60072 жыл бұрын
Hello- great video. Do you typically perform this summer pruning after harvest? Or Is this pruning done typically at late summer or fall, regardless of when fruit is harvested? Thanks?

Hi Jason,as you are a busy man l understand if you can’t reply. My question is,l have a Handy chipper which looks identical to yours but it constantly clogs up to the point I’ve almost given up with it! I avoid putting anything wet or sappy in it and lm careful what size cuttings l put through. Any advice would be very gratefully received. All the best Roger

Hi. Firstly keep the blade and anvil gap as small as possible mate. Keep the deflection flap right open, on top of the shoot (out). The trick is feed a little and often. Very dry leaf, like dead conifer, you need to try and mix it with woody waste, so helps it throw the chip out. When your feeding the chipper and the engine revs start to drop, hold the waste back till full revs again, you need rotar speed to throw the chip out. Is what comes out, chipped or just long shredded bit? Hope that helps, let me know 👍 Sorry I'm aways behind with comments. 👍👍

jason Gardener many thanks for your prompt reply. It chips very well then clogs up no matter what you put in. I’m wondering wether the Shute is the problem,as l have tried it without the Shute,(only for investigation purposes!) very messy but it seemed to work! However l shall persevere,if not l may sell it and look for a different type. Once again thanks for your advice and l thoroughly enjoy your videos. Cheers!

This garden is on the coast, and the spring winds hit hard, so fruit is poor, someone has hit the tree with a chainsaw in the past by the look of it😔, it's coming back round slowly. 👍

Gardeners disease!! You mentioned it at the start of the video when pruning and recommended wearing glasses so not to get the disease... When I googled it it comes up that it's something your born with. Have you got more information on it?? Keep up the good videos. 👍
