You can use your iPhone remote app to use your on screen iPhone keyboard to type. At least you could on older models. Don't have the 4th gen so I'm not sure.

great video jared. i owned the 1st gen apple tv and it had a hard drive on it. and then they went away from that in the next generations. which i was kind of bummed about. because it's really great to take the apple tv on vacation with you and have all your movies that you've purchased on it it with you. with or without internet. but the new remote looks pretty sweet. i'll have to talk April into letting me get one. Great review.

How does the music work? Do you play it on your phone and it goes thru the tv speakers? Are the album cover effects on the screen?

Music is played through your tv streaming from your iTunes library. Also it will show album covers at the top of the screen for all of your music. You can purchase music,movies etc. straight from Apple TV and it will then be added to your iTunes library.

No, Apple TV is a media streaming box. You don't have to subscribe to an Apple TV service, but you can download apps like Netflix and Hulu which do. You can rent movies, play music, play photos, play games, and lots of other things with it.

Why is the Apple TV box not wifi capable or is it? Our problem is that our tv is in one room and our Ethernet connection is in the other room on the other side of our house where our desktop computer is. Do all of these streaming devices take Ethernet cables direct connect?

+MsDarcyfan If you want to use the Netflix app on it yes. The tv shows he had playing were bought on iTunes with a one time purchase. They have subscription services like Netflix, Hulu, etc. on the device that you pay for monthly but you can also purchase movies and TV shows off iTunes.
