on the bottoms of the apple, i would assume blossom end rot. a simple calcium nitrate spray or cheaper calcium product is a good general practice anyway. i wonder if good K / potassium levels help resist blossom injury?

Unsure. It was really more of a russet

I think it’s frost damage that makes it russet like that

My apples are snapping back from not being fertilized for 2 or 3 years. I'm starting to fertilize them again because their quality really did a nose dive without fertilizer. At 2:50 I think that is apple maggot damage. Cut the apple in half and see if there is a worm at the core.

Prof.Kent it just looks like russeting. It’s been there since the apples were small and only really affected a few varieties. We will find out!

Hi, Just curious if you know the name of the rootstock those trees are grafted on to? I just planted a Gravenstein that is structured very similarly to those trees (tall with branches shooting out of the main stem almost in a spiral) and this is very different than the other dwarf variety trees that I have previously planted.
