No. It would be nice to have a wide fov high resolution wireless headset. Maybe pimax can come through with their wigig module. And 12k qled. I would like to see how good the displays are on the Vision Pro. It's a little glimpse into the near future maybe. It does feel like Apple left something on the table when they didn't have it also do gaming out of the box. Still you'll have Rec Room on apple vision pro and not psvr2! Haha! Why?!!? ❤

I got the Vision Pro with the understanding that it was not a VR gamers headset. However, I do have the index controllers and the base stations and a high-end gaming PC, so I look forward to when something like virtual desktop gets updated for the Vision Pro. if this happens, what I most look forward to is playing Microsoft flight simulator on it.

We passed on this but got the Varjo XR-4 (better for our business and games). I believe as soon as they fix the software it will be unmatched for quite a while.

There are already efforts to get SteamVR and base stations working with AVP. This is very exciting! However I believe it will have some limitations compared to headsets that natively support lighthouse tracking, and fitness apps may be less ideal due to the material of the default head strap and the device tether to an external battery.

I simply love my Quest3 and the way it could be used on both standalone (with Oculus library) and (via Virtual Desktop wireless ) on PCVR games. I wish META to design/release a "next" or "pro" version replacing the LED panels with MircoOled to increase the current resolution. On my Quest 3 I can still slightly see the pixels screen... once they will disappear it will be perfect. In my opinion.

@@mixedrealityTV Maybe VD guy is working on it, but I am a bit doubtful it will be fast (maybe if vd guy started early on it). Becausem, as you know, apple is a whole different ecosystem, different chips, coding, playstore, etc. I would not say it is impossible, but If I am a developer which generally targets lower-end devices, it does not make much sense to target a limited number of people with high end devices on such a different platform... unless I make some fat stacks on that pony.

I am glad I don't have to watch the whole video. Thanks for your honest answer of NO. Main reason for me is COST!!!! No VR headset at that price is worth it for VR gaming. The Quest 3, don't have yet, will be adequate for me at their price tag - reviews of Quest 3 have been good. I do have other tethered VR headsets which were around the same pricing. Even though outdated, my Rift S is my go to VR headset because of the good wide sweet spot for viewing in SIM Racing. I also don't need a Pimax Crystal, which I know sounds good, but looks too big and bulky and pricy. I feel the Apple Vision Pro is more suited for businesses and maybe social interactions. i think this VR headset only works well with other expensive Apple computers. Unless I win the LOTTO or Powerball, my money goes for other things. Myself, I only do gaming with VR. Thanks for the video and take care.

The only positive I've been able to get from the Apple Vision Pro is how it has the best pass-through of all headsets. That right there is the least useful thing for VR. But like all AR it can be fun to see your environment around you in real time but what practical purpose does it serve in terms of productivity and gaming. Apple are selling this as a computing device, the next Mac they have said. I haven't seen anything that would make me want to use this over a PC or use it over a VR headset for gaming. Also people need to keep the "wooo it's so magical" to a minimum as it makes it seem like you are suggesting the pass-through is all that matters compared to everything else that it doesn't do well.

There is hell of a lot going for it than the pass through. Also has the best screens, the best interaction model and the best ecosystem out of all the other major players. I have a 14 inch MacBook and I would much rather work inside my vp than on that. Phone usage has also gone way down since I brought it.

Horizon Call of the Mountain on Vision Pro. Climbing, swimming, shooting arrows can all be done without controllers. It has a walking and side stepping mechanic that works by swinging your arms. They could totally make a port that works I believe. That would be not as immersive as it is on the Sony with all the haptic feedback it offers, but certainly an incredible full vr experience on the Apple…

I think the Vision Pro is a quality of life update :) It's great that you can use a device where your eyes behave as a rollover function on a computer mouse. It's nice that you can gesture your fingers instead of clicking on a mouse. It's nice but no magic for me. And why did Apple decide to lie and say they are the first to discover spatial computing instead of just saying it is MR headset. It's a nice MR headset but it is a type of device that already existed. Apple made a great headset but they did not discover MR. Why choose to lie instead of just saying hey we created a great MR headset? And they did it's a great MR headset with a few apps at this time. Stop lying Apple.

might be good but only for those that have a ton of money and messing with it to get it to work on steamvr with index controllers otherwise this is more of a work device. Quest 3 is great in some aspects but we should not praise it for its walled garden ecosystem we need better options on other game stores. Think only hope is valve if they decide to do anything.

but what u mean is 2d games (plane screen)... even quest can do that with "immersed" app he mean vr games, a world of diference there literally, no only standalone vr games on quest itself but also pc-vr games. controllers can be used for many things, grap, move, shoot, use, jump, map, menu, and much more etc etc. u cant do all that with hand tracking, aside of that is imposible, its not that good either. eye tracking is not usable for gaming it will give you brain pain and u need dynamic vision, unless its for select menu or smtg quest have some AAA studios i realy doubt that a non focused on gaming company like apple will invest on that, is more complicated and take longer that make a movie

You can connect PlayStation controllers with the Vision Pro. I think the only drawback is the availability of games and that would be solved with time. In future more games will be available for AVP.

Basically MR apps. I am looking forward to the day when AVP would be available in the Ray-Ban form factor. I have the oculus quest 2 and XReal first generation glasses. While oculus quest 2 just keeps eating dust on my shelf, I use the XReal glasses daily. I like the sunglasses form factor, or decent pass through form factor like AVP as I feel claustrophobic in a blindfolded form factor.

There is nothing stopping Apple from making their own hand controllers. Most likely uses cases would be for for Graphic Arts apps. Apple Brush Pro. Certainly agree that the Quest 3 is great for gaming, especially with Virtual Desktop for PCVR

You don’t understand the Vision Pro was never made to use hand controllers. Most VR compatible games work with your fingers or hands. The thing for Apple is to bring more Vr experiences like on the Quest but it will work without controllers. Imagine picking up a gun in a first person shooter Vr game with your hands no needing controllers. This is why the Vision Pro is 3,500 it’s on another level.

It is clear that Apple has nailed eye and hand tracking. What I do understand is that hand controllers are objectively better than bare hands for apps that manipulate things such as digital art especially when tactile feedback is included. It is early days for spatial computing and Apple is off to a good start

Right now the Vision Pro is not worth it for gamers. But it just released giving it some time Apple will bring more games I’m sure of it. Remember the Quest has had a big head start for being in the market longer. Also owning the Vision pro I was playing Samurai jack an Apple Arcade game not made for VR. So I didn’t want to connect a controller to the Vision Pro so I brought the virtual screen closer to me I was amazed that I could actually use my fingers to control the character and kill some creature I actually make it kinda far in the game. Was this the ideal way to play no but it is amazing how I was playing the game just like on my IPhone but instead of touching a physical screen I was touching air. Also I was playing jet pack joy ride and cut the rope using just my fingers no controllers needed. In jet pack joyride I could interact with the background environment with my fingers pressing my fingers together and aiming at let’s say a punching bag would move it around. It’s experiences like those that make the Vision Pro especial because no other Vr headset has that good of hand tracking. Vision Pro has way more potential then the Quest it just needs more time to get the games and experiences. Vision Pro you don’t need controllers so imagine a virtual gun just pick up with you hand and pull finger to pull trigger without a controller that’s next level.

No one is mentioning that Puzzling Places is available for the Apple Vision Pro. That experience is amazing on the Quest 3 for me. Imagine that on the Apple Vision Pro. Puzzling Places is so much fun. Of course, in the end, the Quest 3 has much more available as far as VR games. I also can't afford the Apple Vision Pro. I have actually played some games using the Vision Pro and they are pretty cool I was playing uno just using eye tracking and my fingers that’s something that the Quest can’t do. Right now the Vision Pro lacks those big Vr games that are in the Quest but not all of them are good just because they are big. Just playing uno was pretty fun on Vision Pro.

​@@DangerousGambit The Apple Vision Pro is a little overpriced, but not as much as you would think. The M2 chip has a significant value. The OLED displays have a significant value. The lenses have a significant value. You can buy a quality lens from Canon or Nikon right now for over $10,000 just for the lens. That said, Apple does mark up their gear. On the other side of your argument, "equally terrible company" is all about you. Sure, Facebook Meta hasn't been great for people. But the reality labs part of Meta that makes the Quest 3 has very little to do with Facebook or Instagram at all. In fact, Meta is bleeding billions of dollars a year trying to give people VR headsets that are not marked up in price. It really seems like one of two things are true here: 1, you're just a troll saying negative things because you're a downer in real life; or 2, you're poor and can't afford even the cheap Quest. But The Purpose of Time is correct in that you don't know what you're talking about. Your post reads like someone who has never watched TV complaining that TV companies are bad for people. And yes, TV is bad for people; but since you watch one and likely own one, you can appreciate the benefits of owning a TV as well. If you owned a Quest 3, you could watch youtube on a screen that makes your TV look small, you could travel the world on Google Earth in a way that would delight you and everyone you shared the experience with, you could swim with sharks, you could float in space, you could walk around in experiences that are so realistic and compelling that people forget they are in their home and walk into walls. In short, your ignorance and your negativity make you appear to be a complete idiot. I would suggest that you trying trolling in a way that doesn't make you appear to be a moron.

this will never be pcvr compatible, Apple isn't meant for gaming, especially for vr gaming on a pc, most this is made for is IOS apps and other basic stuff, you want gaming, get a gaming pc and a Quest 2 or 3, this headset is too overpriced for what it is, almost $4,000 for just basic IOS apps, yep that's Apple for you, basic, boring, overhyped and overpriced, spending money on the Apple logo, that's pretty much it

I already knew this will not made for gaming, because controllers are not there. Besides, it's also heavy and expensive thing. If you buy for PCVR gaming, you use only small part of headset and most is waste of money. I know SteamVR driver is coming, and you can use Index controllers with it. It's just not ideal one due 3500 dollar price. You made one big video mistake. The background is too bright. It's not very enjoyable view to your face which is clearly need some brightness bump up. That is bad video. Please don't use this way with bright background. No one youtuber will do it, it's unpleasant view. Rotate yourself 180 degrees will make big difference: background will less bright and your face is better lit too. Do you already forget good lighting is also important? This is just wrong example about lighting.
