The title really misled me. "Apple Watch FINALLY Got a Glucose Monitor" sounds like there's going to be a glucose monitor on the next Apple Watch. The title should have been "Apple Watch May FINALLY Get a Glucose Monitor". Really disappointing click betrayal.

Don’t care about that. Clickbaits are the norm now, and this one is not so bad. I’m grateful that there is a reliable way to track blood sugar using the Apple watch with a 3rd party tool.

cmon bro.. we all clicked cause we thought that the apple watch actually had a blood glucose sensor. Absolute clickbait, and if u really didn't mean for it to be clickbait, u would change the title.

Glucose monitoring is probably one of the top most important feature the watch should truly have!

Yeah, you’re right. But regardless of this particular function, the Apple Watches development in general has been glacial. I know many people who loved their AW, but gave up on it due to terrible battery life, which Apple has never improved. It’s also very thick, and the rectangular shape is off putting for some.

What Apple Watch face are you using with your Dexcom? I am a T1D wearing a G6 Dexcom and the AW complication issue not being large and in the middle of the AW is problematic. Thanks for the info. I may try the G7 again with my AW to see if the connection can be better.

Super interested. Found out I had grade 2 fatty liver disease this month. Cutting sugar out and losing weight are what the doctors are saying to fully reverse it. I can’t wait for Apple Watch to add glucose monitoring. But I seriously doubt the accuracy with a blood sample/interstitial fluid reading.

I'm very interested in using a CGM for a short span of like 3 months. I've been 95% carnivore for 6 months now and in good health. I'm just mainly interested in finding out what foods really trigger my blood sugar, so when I re-introduce them, I will know which ones are better or worse. I also am trying to talk my wife into this also. Although as of now, she is not too interested in doing that.

The problem is that you cant buy sensors in Sweden, that is when you are not already very sick and need insulin. Hope the future opens for prevention too. Only buying a watch and that’s it would be my dream.
@AppleInsider27 күн бұрын
It will NOT replace these sensors though. Apple will not be getting into the CGM space. It requires an insane degree of government oversight because of the glucose readings aren’t reliable and accurate, you could easily kill someone by taking the wrong amount of insulin. I’d love to skip the dedicated CGM too but I know it won’t happen. At least for a very long time

I am using the Dexcom G7 with the direct to watch feature. I have had quite a bit of signal loss issues on the watch and I think it's because I wear my watch on my left wrist and the center is on my right arm. When I change sensors, I'm going to try it on my stomach, which is where I found the best connectivity before the direct to Watch connection.
@AppleInsider27 күн бұрын
Stomach is always better, but I haven't had too much of an issue with that same situation. My sensor is on my right arm now and my watch is on my left wrist, but maybe because I sit at the computer so much?

As a type 2; I’ve had it well controlled for a very long time. I would absolutely love if Apple could put a sensor in the watch to at minimum keep me updated and keep an eye on the trending numbers like you said. I’m all for it. Can’t wait for it to be available. Once it is ; that’s when I’ll probably upgrade to the newest Ultra.

Everyone will be different. For me, the G7 was an absolute game changer. Stayed on far better, was more accurate, connects to my pump, watch, and iPhone at the same time, AND will soon be extended to a 14 day wear time. Huge upgrade.

I reported them to Google. The monitor is still the inserted sensor in your arm or abdomen that monitors your glucose, the iPhone was the middleman, now you just don't need it within Bluetooth range, the watch nor the iPhone ever monitored your glucose but maybe one day! This is clickbait, misinformation. The watch monitors your heartbeat, sleep, etc. This content creator needs to look up the definition of the word monitor but should be ashamed of themselves for misleading people!
