Hey thank you for the update and information. Unfortunately for me you're a stud and I'm a light weight. I did my first 70.3 (finished DFL, but I finished). As I was about to say my watch ran out of power around hour 6 and that was just so disappointing. Perhaps I need to either buy the ultra and start training more and finish under 6 hours. Thanks gain.

That’s frustrating the battery ran out. The ultra will last much more than the 6 hours or you can go for a Garmin. Congrats on persevering and finishing 🙏🏼

A lot of people like to run with their bike helmet on. Don’t worry about it buddy. 😆 And I was wondering if you had a backup. 👌 Smart
@SmartBikeTrainers2 жыл бұрын
We need a helmet that disappears or take itself off as you enter the transition. Maybe in the new Metaverse will solve this 😆

Hiya there, think I’m a little late here, I’ve not fully finished yet so apologies for my impatience, is there a way to turn off automatic transition and just do manual, I’m just going for a duoathlon for “funish” and will probably take breaks but don’t wanna get put into transition
@SmartBikeTrainersАй бұрын
Yes, when you select Multisport, scroll all the way down to preferences, and then Transitions and select manual.

@@SmartBikeTrainers Ahh yes I see that, sorry I should’ve done a more thorough check. You have saved me for tomorrow though thank you so much

I use the apple watch for my first 70.3 race and it had 5 percent lift when I finish the race. It can't use for the full distance very unfortunately but I am very except watchOS 9 Automatic transition

Thanks for the video. I believe an option some people can consider is that you can use your iPhone as a bike computer. For some people who already have an Apple Watch and iPhone simply mounting the phone to your bike will allow you to gain your data at little expense. This will be my route as having 3 little kids there is no extra money in the wallet for $300+ in new electronics. The Apple Watch connects to all my 15 year old bike technology!

Hey there! I have an Apple Watch. And with the newest updates I am now able to track a multisport. What does it happen when I finish the race and stop the track? When I upload it to Strava it goes into 2 or 3 different activities? And also, do I need to do anything when transiting from bike to run or vice-versa?
@cameronmatthews71972 жыл бұрын
So I’m thinking about getting an Apple Watch and do you think the new iOS 9 will be on the series SE
@SmartBikeTrainers2 жыл бұрын
Yes, WatchOS 9 will go on Apple Watch SE.

If the swim has a beach run between swim laps, do you think it would get confused about the transition?
@SmartBikeTrainers Жыл бұрын
Auto transition for me has worked well. However every scenario is different. You can now set it up to manually trigger transitions if you prefer it that way.
@dubripple Жыл бұрын
Confirmed yesterday that it works fine in that scenario. Xterra with two swiml laps, each with a beach run to start. Watch measured it fine and didn’t switch to T1 until in the transition area

And thank you for the Strava tips on converting to a ride, splitting it, the converting the swim and ride back. Very helpful!

Does the Apple Watch have an ability to send a live tracking link to another person so friends could track your race? My Garmin can do this but requires you to have your phone with you, which you can’t have during IM races… ?
@SmartBikeTrainers2 жыл бұрын
If you have the cellular version, they should be able to track you without carrying your phone. It will use up more battery that way and with the battery optimization settings, it might affect how often the tracking gets updated.

Just wanted to clarify . Apple Watch automatically detects the end of the swim and start transition without pushing a button? Just to make sure since I am doing sprint this weekend.
@SmartBikeTrainers2 жыл бұрын
That is correct. This feature is currently only in beta so if you want to use it, you need to install the beta WatchOS 9 and beta 16 on your iphone.

I did a custom workout for a swimrun, So swim then run then swim then run … etc 5 times. The automatic transition only works twice then it was stuck to swimming for 10km. I will try next week again but with a manual transition
@SmartBikeTrainers2 жыл бұрын
Apple just added a manual transition in their latest beta update. A little finicky to use since you have to unlock the screen and swipe to the menu screen. But interested to hear your feedback if you give it a try.
@viledanew2 жыл бұрын
@@SmartBikeTrainers I agree, a little finicky. They should add the option to push both buttons to go with the next sport, same as with Tri Tracker app. I’ll keep you posted next week

I updated my watch to the latest public beta and did again a swimrun but as it was like a sprint, I left it to automatic transition instead of manual transition It didn’t improve, still the same behavior First swim is ok First run is ok Then stuck to swimming And at the end I can’t even stop the workout. I have to turn off the watch

Good job! 👏👏👏 I wish Apple Watch's Bluetooth could directly communicate heart rate with my Garmin cycling computer instead of needing a "middle man" device like a WatchLink.

Does the multisport function work with just the GPS function or does it need cellular function as well for it to work?

No need for cellular service for multi sports to work. I don’t personally have the cellular service on mine.

Can you provide an update now that the full iOS is out and the Apple Watch ultra? Did they add anything that was not there before? Can you manually hit a lap button?
@SmartBikeTrainers2 жыл бұрын
With the Ultra, you can manually transition between legs using the new action button. I will have more details on that soon.
